And his attacker couldn't even hit his target from 10 feet away... sheesh, no wonder he was losing.

I guess it figures. Adolescence has been prolonged for many men in America.

I'm not judging here. This guy is still young enough to be a college kid, and they have plenty of free time.

But maybe, just maybe, this lack of gumption among our nation's young people (holy shiat, I'm including 30 year olds here) has cratered our economy. We're going to be waiting until the next generation reaches adulthood before we climb out of this goddamned economic hole their older siblings and young parents have dug.

"'Haven't heard of something happening online, whether it was playing games or chatting, that led to an attack like this."

I guess he missed the one in Legends of Mir 3 about guy #1 loaning guy #2 a sword only to find out that guy #2 sold the sword instead of giving it back. Guy #1 stabbed Guy #2 to death as a result.

/Just one instance, it's a lot more prevalent in Asia.

Yes it's video games that brought the economy down. Not greedy bankers or two costly, useless wars. Maybe next time we can blame the loud music them youngsters play.

Disemboweling? Did you not see the size of that dude, if he had tried to gut him he would still be sawing through blubber as we speak. I am more concerned that the guy apparently had only one bullet, and missed from what was near point blank range, this is America folks, ammo is cheap, get some real life target practice in Barney Fife.

/Also it was kinda sad to see fat neckbeard dudes mom holding the door open for him in that one shot.

how dare you question the authority of our baby boomer overlords! they deserve utmost respect. they grew up in a economy stably growing at 6% a year as a result of the lessons learned and protections enacted by their parents. it takes incredible courage to take that tried and true experience, ignore it, watch the economy get skull farked into a pulverized corpse, then blame it on 18-25 year olds.

I thought gumption meant something noble. So clearly, I don't have it. Back to my Marilyn Manson albums I guess....

I remember Dave Grohl once told in an interview that the most hilarious thing about the MTV awards (back then) was the looks of the (rather religious) black artists to the performance of Marilyn Manson who was still very much in his 'I am the antichrist' phase. It's just entertainment people. If you don't like it, go enjoy something else. Nothing gumption endangering about it.

Something tells me you've either never played video games and/or they came about when you were already "too old" for them.

They're a hobby just like any other. Some guys go golfing. Some guys play with power tools in their garage. Some guys work with cars. Some guys read. Some guys watch movies. Some guys play video games.

I really don't see why it's perfectly ok for a grown man to watch movies with the Incredible Hulk in them but if he boots up a game of Starcraft 2, suddenly he's a weirdo and needs to grow up.

Suggesting that videogames are the cause of the current financial crisis...is sinking to a new low of idiocy.

Please consider that the crotchety imbeciles who came before you could also be heard decades earlier grumbling about YOU '20 years old and he still watches TV?! THIS is why our country is going down the crapper!'

That's a pretty random statement with very little to back it up. I know many gamers. Most are professionals with excellent careers, several are hard working farmers who like to game after putting in 14 hour days, many are military and some are just regular folk with jobs. Many games (this includes tabletop games etc.) require an income of some sort. It's a hobby, open to all ages.

Also, not to be mean...but you are attempting to judge an entire group of people which you seem to know little about.
