This story. I like this story. It captures that certain, elusive panache that one seeks.

Maybe the convenience store was closed and he had to break the window to get inside. Did anyone check if they left any money on the counter?

Why do people smoke at the same time they're drinking beer? Doesn't the beer gum up the smoke and make it all gooey and disgusting? Are they trying to save time by downing two addictions at once?

A nicotine buzz while drunk was one of the high points of my smoking career. Few things come close to that feeling.

I was thinking "FAIL" tag.
If you rob a store in the same town you live in, don't wear a disguise, don't know about security cameras, and then consume your pilfered goods on your front lawn, you pretty much fail as a theif.

I'm not sure the application of beer would make the smoke any more disgusting than it already is.

You're right. Why would people do that? The beer would put your cigarette out.

Beer and cigarettes should be covered by food stamps. It would deter this kind of thing.

Where do you think the founders of Nicorette got their idea? One of the most pleasurable experiences for a "drinksmoker" is the way the congealing smoke can be chewed to the consistency of bubble gum. Once it has been solidified by the drink, the participant can then extract the nicotine at their own leisure. Due to the mastication effect, the harder one folds and chews this gum, the more nicotine pleasure is extracted. Chew strongly to ease that initial craving, and then you can tuck it away in a cheek to slowly savor throughout the evening.

Nah, being drunk while smoking helps give you "first cigarette of the day" buzz levels, maybe more.

When you have a tobacco habit, as you get drunker, the urge to smoke increases rapidly. I used to smoke about half a pack a day as a smoker, but in one drunk night I'd often kill the whole pack of cigarettes.

Regarding your "gumming up the smoke" thought. You don't inhale tobacco and drink beer in one action. You don't take a drag off a cigarette, keep a mouth full of smoke, take a gulp of beer, then exhale. You drink your beer, just as if it were a can of Pepsi, and drag off your cigarette a few times a minute (with an empty mouth).

Save time on what?

Plus cigs taste better when you're drunk. The buzz on buzz is sublime.

//haven't touched a cig in almost 7 year, but damn that first cig of the morning buzz can't be matched

Well, both are exponentially worse for you. It takes a long time to kill yourself smoking cigarettes. But they do kill you, which is why I quit.
