I don't think I ever heard an Obama staff tell someone in the press to "Kiss my ass"

That's a pretty apt description of Romney's trip all right.

Mitt wants to be a foreign policy hardliner like Reagan and hasn't realized it's no longer 1985 and the world has changed considerably. Dude is such an ass.

Was watching the GOP throw up ads about how Obama has created jobs overseas and I'm thinking 'And your candidate? WTF has he done for Americans, EVER?'

ManateeGag: I don't think I ever heard an Obama staff tell someone in the press to "Kiss my ass"

Back in the day, Rahm Emanuel was said to be able to remove paint from walls, but he did usually have the common sense - usually - to STFU when speaking to an entire pool of journalists.

And they kept a taser handy in case Biden lunged towards an open mic.

The Romney people are just... so very, very far out of their league. Gashouse Gorillas vs. Tea Totallers, maybe?

The most galling thing about that ad, something I HOPE Obama hits back hard on, is that the Stimulus bill HAD a "Buy American" clause in it, and the Congressional Republicans forced a series of votes to remove it.

With his obsession with pleasing his dead father, his inability to relate to actual live humans and the weird sense that he believes it is still 1962, Mitt would make a fascinating psychological study.

Hmm, you'd think a liberal media would put at least the tiniest little effort to inform people of that.

I was listening to someone last night (her husband is a doctor) talk about how Obamacare was going to ruin them- the cost of insurance was out of this world! I had to ignore her, even when she went on about her $110k replacement car while her Porsche was in the shop. Hard right line stance even though she is pretty open minded about things.

The message isn't penetrating those who haven't been able to pay attention.

You forgot to mention the Region 1 DVDs and you should've referred to Copenhagen as "Carbonhagen." Other than that, well done.

Mitt Romney would shiat his pants if he had to sit in the same room as Vladimir Putin. Someone ought to tap ol' Mittens on the shoulder and remind him what the Japanese said about the Americans following the attack on Pearl Harbor. Putin is not someone you want to make an enemy of.

I am very much the confused individual and perhaps I would like to see the source of the comment upon this because I have not found the source of the news coverage that has speculated that Mr. Mitten Romney who is the candidate for the Presidential Body of the United States of the Americas has engaged in any t-ball games while traveling. I was thinking perhaps this was the reference to the Olympics but the research of me seems to provide the indication that t-ball is not in fact the Olympic sport although on the side note I am making the assumption that pygmy tribes would do quite well of this. So it seems to me that as the usual Mister Barack Haralson Obama is making the false accusation. There was not the t-ball played on the trip. Stop making the lies!

2012-08-01 02:58:23 PM
Considering that it is impossible to strike out at playing t-ball, this metaphor, although funny, is incorrect

A better metaphor would be that he sucked so badly that he got put into checkmate by a pawn

Oh and this is a nice little side note to that:

Sharp Decline in Terror Attacks After Bin Laden Death

The number of worldwide terror attacks fell to 10,283 last year, down from 11,641 in 2010 and the lowest since 2005, the State Department reported today.

What's made the difference? The State Department cites the May 2011 killing of Osama bin Laden and other top al Qaeda members killed last year including Atiyah Abd al-Rahman and Anwar al-Awlaki, who was the head of Yemen's Al Qaeda affiliate and had ties to the underwear bomber plot in 2010.
"The loss of bin Laden and these other key operatives puts the network on a path of decline that will be difficult to reverse," the report stated.

So .... Obama won the war on Terror, it looks like.

Ok, let's go!

1) 47 nations rise to Obama's challenge at US nuke summit and agree to four years of non-proliferation efforts.
2) Visited more countries and world leaders than any first year president.
3) G-20 Summit produced a $1.1 trillion deal to combat the global financial crisis.
4) Launched an international Add Value to Agriculture initiative (AVTA).
5) Created a rapid response fund for emerging democracies.
6) Bolstered the military's ability to speak different languages.
7) Returned the rights of Americans to visit and assist their families in Cuba.
8) Appointed envoys to the Middle East and AFPAK
9) Renewed loan guarantees for Israel.
10) Pledged $400 million in aid to Gaza civillians.
11) Iran Sanctions Act.
12) Renewed import restrictions under Burmese Freedom and Democracy Act of 2003.
13) Nuclear arms agreements with India (5/4/2010).
14) Nuclear arms agreements with Australia (5/5/2010).
15) Nuclear arms agreement with Russia.
16) Agreed with Switzerland to bolster tax information exchange

Now let's look at the highlights of Mitt's foreign policy:

He represents a Team. Simply put, they don't care. This is the truth of the matter for a lot of people.

And if anyone paid attention, they'd see his advisers are Bush people from 2001-2009. So, basically, he's just a pretty face on a machine that was thrown out of power a few years ago. Imagine Bush being back in office, and that'd be Romney.

No no. It makes more sense if you remember they project their weaknesses. He's basically saying Romney has nothing and can't even say it correctly.

That doesn't really explain how nobody knew how much of an idiot he is though. Is it a function of the media's failure both in 2008 and this year's primaries that he didn't have the chance to show his stupid, or what?

I saw the media give up after 9/11. No more tough questions, no more pressing for reasons why somebody lied, no calling anyone out. I am sure it began before then, but to see it so blatant after was eye opening. I have yet to see any big media outlet here in the US try to do this.

They've had plenty of chances. But when you need advertisers to make money, ratings to bring in advertisers, and a majority of people to tune in, you begin to look for ways to do just that. So news is now entertainment. Reporters are not allowed to do what they do best. Sad, really.
