Even Superman agrees.

List fails without Hunter S. Thompson.

They didn't say the journalists had to be fictional. Besides, Hunter S. was a character in his own books, and no one...least of all the author...had any idea how much of that was truth and how much was fiction.

Spider pretty much makes Hunter redundant as far as the list goes.

No Clark Kent? Clark Kent may seem like just a mild-mannered reporter, but listen, not only does he know how to treat his editor-in-chief with the proper respect, not only does he have a snappy, punchy prose style, but he is, in my forty years in this business, the fastest typist I've ever seen.

What, no Ron Burgundy?

Also, props to The Night Stalker. Lots of popcorn got stuck in our family's couch while watching that show. Some of the best times we had growing up were back when families had to all be in the same room to view ANY programming. Dad in the Big Chair, Mom shuttling back and forth between the den (that's what we called them back then) with refreshments (that's what we called THOSE back then), and us kids watching whatever Dad damn well said we'd watch- and LIKE it. Good times, man. Good times.

JJJ deserves a much higher place than #4.

And Peter Parker is a photojournalist - He should be on top of Lois Lane.

/if Peter Parker is on top of Lois Lane, I want pics.

When I was a kid, "The Night Stalker" used to scare the shiat out of me. Especially the one where he had to defeat the zombie by pouring salt in its mouth and sewing its lips shut.

William De Worde is on the list? I used to think Pratchett was obscure. Damn you for trying to make it pop culture.

Yeah, The Avengers only made 1.4 billion dollars worldwide. No way that's an indication of popularity.

And if she does grow a brain and figure it out they fire the director and change the movie so she finds out because he wants her to know.

Bonus points for including William De Worde. Minus superfail for making Lois #1. She is not worthy to hold Spider Jerusalem's jock. She couldn't figgure out who Superman was for farking decades while working right next to him.

This being the days before VCR, when they reran The Night Stalker movie the first time, my sister and I stuck our cassette tape recorder under the TV speaker. We listened to that movie like a radio play for years.
