So they expect us to go to a TV channel at a certain time to see the repeat we can always see online anytime? Correction: An edited down version with commercials.

I'm trying to think what needs to be edited down?

I love Felicia Day and her grip of steel as much as anyone, but I have an evaluation copy on DVD. Thanks, though.

That one scene that makes it, plus 22 minutes of commercials, too long to fit into the time slot.

I think so, yes. It's a fun little story. And it's only one episode. Even Fox couldn't cancel that before it ends.

Serious question. Did they ever do more than just the first part? Thats all I saw on netflix when I watched it. bit of a cliff hanger.

I'm usually not a fan of Whedon's stuff (I know, blasphemy, but eh), but Dr Horrible was awesome.

So, yes.

It's three short little episodes. It's on netflix streaming, or you could easily find the whole thing on the youtube with the google. It runs about 40 minutes.

For anybody that likes Dr. Horrible, but hasn't gotten the DVD yet, it's worth it for "Commentary! The Musical". They basically wrote an entire second musical for the commentary track.

Picked up "Commentary!" off of eMusic, and listen to it on my iPod, without any video playing. They do a good job of making fun of themselves (especially Joss).

Yes. I was putting it off, and then my friend insisted upon showing it to me. Doesn't take long, either.

Am I the only one that thought Dr. Horrible was actually really sad? By the end I honestly wanted to cry. I probably think way too much about these things, but I just felt so bad for him and (MILD SPOILERS, MAYBE) I felt like the entire story was was all in his head. (END MILD SPOILERS, MAYBE).

Or, you know, I'm reading waaay to much into it. I really did enjoy it until the last 10 mins or so, and even then I enjoyed it, it just went in a completely different direction than I expected.

/damn you Joss Whedon!

The ending was what made it from fun, tongue-in-cheek goof of an internet webcast to fantastic movie. It's of course, Whedon's signature style but when presented with a limited budget and the fantastic performance ability of NPH, it was incredibly moving and dramatic.

Oh, I did too. I went from enjoying this whole light-hearted comedy to slack-jawed "huh" at the end. It is definitely a sad ending. The main character gets almost everything he thinks he wants, at the cost of the one thing he really wants. Hell, when they showed him curled up on the couch at the end, I even felt sorry for Captain Hammer. That doesn't mean it's not a good ending. Just.. unexpected.

Honestly, I was expecting the sort of typical, Dr. Horrible realizes his folly, gets either a victory over Hammer or at least moves beyond him, and gets the girl type ending. And that would be ok, but forgettable, and then the film would have been pretty damn good, but this ending helped make it great.

/This deep into a thread about a show this old, spoilers be damned at this point.
//Also on the DVD extras: Tur-Mohel!

Has there been any progress on a sequel? I know there was a lot of talk, but nothing ever seemed to move forward. I'm also unsure how they could effectively follow it up.

Well, I'm totally watching this. On DVD. And then going online to see what scene they cut.

/what on earth could you possibly leave out??

Good thing it's not on Fox. They'd cancel it halfway through.

My theory is now that Captain Hammer has felt pain for the first time he'll be the next to turn evil. And now that Dr. Horrible has seen what all his glory gets him he might keep Penny's memory alive by trying to refocus his 'evil' for good aims, ala Robin Hood.

Thus culiminating in another showdown when Dr. Horrible must keep Hammer from destroying the world to make everyone feel his pain... or something.

/as long as NPH and NF sing and fight, it's all good
