That's so strange, considering a British judge is forcing Apple to admit Samsung didn't rip them off.

sammyk: Trollish headline is trollish.

Yeah it kind of is. The article says nothing like what the headline suggests.

Samsung's actual response was more along the lines of: "Apple didn't invent the farking rounded rectangle. And if anyone had, it would have been these companies that made similar products a decade before the iPad came along."

Maybe if they'd stop making all their tablets black with metal trim, they wouldn't be yelled at for copying that other black tablet with the metal trim.

just the other day i was at starbucks working on my screenplay when this guy sat down at the table next to me and pulled out what looked like a macbook pro, but was actually some kind of knock-off made by dell. i was blown away by the blatant rip-off move by dell: apple's clamshell design, portable sized design, a keyboard and trackpad (although it looked like they slightly changed the keyboard layout - NICE TRY DELL), even a power cord. i really hope once apple finishes with samsung, the sue dell into oblivion for copying apple's macbook design.

because his inferior macbook pro (i think he called it a "laptop" when i pointed it out to him) made the whole starbucks feel a little less cool and totally f*cked up my creative juices. because of that asshole, the world might never be treated to my modern adaptation of candide featuring barack obama as the title character. fark dell.

I had smart phones long before there were even rumors about Apple making a phone. There were mp3 players long before the iPod was out.

Just like every piece of news regarding medical research is about the cure for cancer we just discovered.

Journalists cut corners to make issues simple so it can be read by a majority of the populace. In many cases this is a good thing. In others it can mean missing important facts, incorrect information, os sensational stories to garner more readers/sales.

It's the reason we still have people blowing a gasket over McDonalds coffee.

Hah, well done thomps that was hilarious. Well the post by itself was hilarious but the fact that people seem to have taken it seriously took it to the next level. C'mon guys...he was talking about writing a screenplay in Starbucks, complaining about the hypothetical other guy's computer's "clamshell design" (that is, it opens up just like pretty much every laptop ever), it's portable size (of a laptop), the fact that it had a keyboard and trackpad....he even complained about that it had a power cord. A POWER CORD. Is it really just shouting out to you guys that this was a serious complaint? I think the only way he could have made it more obvious is if he had somehow added in something about how he was wearing a wool hat and gauged earrings or wtf ever they are called and hipster horn-rimmed glasses while he was checking in on Foursquare and listening to...umm...whatever hipsters listen to I thankfully don't know.

True dat. That's why I'm glad I can look at the source code of Windows 7 any time I have questions over how an API is coded.
