Some delicious copypasta for your breakfast:

Bill: Let me get this straight: you took all the money you made franchising your name and bet it against the Harlem Globetrotters?

Krusty: I thought the Generals were due!

[TV shows a Globetrotter spinning the ball as Generals watch]

He's spinning the ball on his finger! Just take it, take the ball.

[the Globetrotter kicks it into the net behind him]

That game was fixed. They were using a freakin' ladder, for gods' sakes.

And if you bet Tunisia plus the points, you would have won.

Tunisia was only down 13 at the half. 5 on 5, they were respectable. It's the next 5 that the US will dominate with.

From CNNSI: 55: The line the United States men's basketball team was favored by against Tunisia. They won by 47.

If team USA had kept the started in, or at least Carmelo who was red hot, they would have covered. Much like Asian badminton teams, USA was fixing the results by not playing all out the whole way through.

Carmelo's not a starter. The bench outplayed the starters this game, though.

People still wondering why they put Iggy on this team? He can do so much without needing the ball in his hands all the time - the perfect complementary player on a team full of guys used to scoring 25ppg.

Tunisia actually led most of the 1st quarter

Hdidane is just a fun name to say. Even the sports commentators were getting a kick out of it. I want someone to sign him up just so I can hear it during the season.

My point was they pulled all of the starters, then when Carmelo was hot, the pulled him too. That's why I said "kept in the starters or at least Carmelo."

Don't worry, you aren't missing much. The streaming has been plagued by problems even for those who are able to watch online via NBC. Not to mention its very annoyed to be asked what your provider is every day or so.

Iggy - looks great against unskilled Tunisians. Give that man a max contract!

Some NBA team will offer Makram Ben Romdhane a contract after that performance.

Bob Fitzgerald is the announcer. He also announces the home town warriors games. It puzzled me at first. Then i realized it made sense. He announces for one of the worst teams in the NBA. He is accostomed to announcing one sided games.

You sound like you are not a gambler.

Also, this is nothing like the badminton teams. Resting your best players and protecting them from injury is nothing like intentionally losing a match. Keeping your players from running up the score on a game that is out of reach is also considered good sportsmanship, the exact opposite of your point.

You're right, I'm not a gambler.

My point is people are saying "OMG they didn't cover!" when what they should be saying is "OMG they weren't trying to cover!"

Anyone who watched that game could tell that they were more interested in getting everyone into the game and having fun than playing their hardest. If they had played full out on offense and defense for the entire game, they easily would have covered the 55 point spread.

Also I'd like to point out that the official statement about the badminton scandal was "not using one's best efforts to win a match". They still won the match, but they certainly weren't using their "best efforts" to do so. Not that I expect them to put in 100% effort.

So to reiterate:

1. The game was a blow out.
2. It could have been much worse.
3. Good on you if you bet the spread against team USA.
