I'm wondering if you were not watching an NBC affiliate, and if they were intentionally "just reporting the news" so you'd be less inclined to watch NBC.

I don't know if the same teams do both events, or if they're different girls. Or maybe platform is that different from springboard, or maybe USA had a bad day.

It's a real struggle to not be a prick about watching it live. The BBC has their shiat together.

The Chinese mind-link seems to work well for group sports like team diving.

The Japanese don't like to lose.

Americans can be ungracious.

Brits like taking shots at the USA.

So I take it that synchronized diving is the throwaway for the girls that aren't good enough or get too fat to compete in real diving. Then they just do the less technically challenging dives with their friend and bang! Olympic gold!

You only need one anyway. Besides, they need the others to replace a kidney when they beat a child too much for sucking at whatever sport they are forced to compete in.
