My Blue Heeler is outside eating a ground squirrel. I'm sure she'd like to compare the taste to that of a cat. She's really quite good at catching food for herself. She took a diamondback out in May.

I am in for a Dog Day. Dogs do more service for people and save more lives in a day than cats do in a year and that is allowing for cats rodent control (no one ever mentions they are also wiping out songbirds at the same time).

You've missed the last three posts reminding you that this thread was about MUTTS not about purebreds.

Which means Underdog should have been on there, but Sweet Polly Purebred would not be.

Balto and Togo were Siberian huskies. As I recall Balto had some wolf in him. Regardless the American Kennel Club did not recognize the breed until 1930. Lassie may have been purebred, though Lassie was always a male. [There were more than one.]

Well, get a new box of Kleenex and read this Japanese fairy tale. The version I read as a child was a little different, more detailed and imaginative, but the gist is the same.

I own cats now, but my family always had dogs when I was growing up and I have a very soft spot in my heart for them, too. So, for instance, even though I know Groening and Co. went back and tried to make Futurama's "Jurassic Bark" less of a Debbie-downer in "Bender's Big Score," it still makes me sad.
