(AL.com)   If you're going to rob the restaurant where you work, remember : 1) Don't rob it moments after your shift is over. 2) Wear a disguise that actually fools your co-workers. 3) Don't return while detectives are investigating the crime   (blog.al.com ) divider line

Ah, Alabama... you never disappoint in the level of stupidity that flows forever from your inbred loins.

I knew people who tried this right after they graduated high school, but at least they had the decency to wait until they'd been fired.

Any other tips I should be aware of?

I think a how-to article would be much more helpful than a how-not-to article.

Don't you go turning this into a tipping thread.

Not to worry.

They need food service workers where he's headed.

What's worse is that even though coworkers recognized him, all weekend cops didn't bring him in for questioning but only catching him on Monday when he went back to the business

What do you expect? It's Alabama (says the guy who now lives in Arkansas...)

Maybe they were waiting to see if he bragged about it on Facebook?

i used to rob restaurants where i worked all the time. put booze int he garbage, and come get it out of the dumpster at night. easy. victimless. of course stealing money always works too. when you start pulling guns, and yelling, it's all gone wrong.

Also, leave that guy with the "BAD MOTHERFARKER" wallet alone.

I knew a guy who did this type of armed stupidity. He robbed his own Pizza Hut. The waitstaff wouldn't have minded it so much, but, he stole their purses and tips too. They didn't have any moral issues with turning him in to the cops.

No pictures? No description of the disguise? Such an entertaining story.

Nah, they just didn't want to ruin his weekend.

This is good. It reminds me of another time when some guy was robbing a pizza joint that he worked in and halfway through the robbery he pulled down his mask and said to the cashier who was giving him the money: "Hey Bob, it's me!" Needless to say, he didn't get very far after leaving the scene of the crime.

Did he at least remember to take off his name tag?

Meh. I'm not that surprised. If he had any intelligence or drive he wouldn't be working at a fast-food place, after all.

This happens way more than you might think. Last year, two univesity students were murdered in a park. When the local news showed up to do some coverage, they interviewed a local resident who showed up and complained about how dangerous the area was becoming. He said he didn't feel safe in his own neighborhood anymore. Yep, you guessed it. He turned out to be the killer.
