This situation is clearly about due process with regards to local building requirements and not at all driven by hate, fear, racism & paranoia. Just remember that.

If it is that important to you, then grow a pair, sneak onto the site some night, and burn it to the ground*. All this shilly-shallying around just makes you look like wimps.

*This is intended as satire and not as incitement to commit arson

Please, somebody, tell me how this is not a bigoted attack on Muslims who are by and large very peaceful and good-natured people.

Congress as a bloodsport would dramatically increase American participation in government.

Dominionism is a term used to describe the political philosophy of politically active conservative Christians who are believed to seek influence or control over secular civil government through political action, especially in the United States, with the goal of establishing either a nation governed by Christians or one governed by a conservative Christian understanding of biblical law.

Is Murfreesboro the shiathole I imagine it to be?

In before the apologist who uses the 'it's about buidling codes' defense for them, while also dropping a couple 'these peoples' and other clues that it's not about building codes.

Like the one asshat last thread referring to 'these people' and his vast body of experience because he dated a couple Middle Eastern girls, and their families were mean. So if that Farker comes in here, before someone gets to tell him again 'Maybe they were just mean because you're a douche' I just want to say maybe they were just mean because you're a douche!

wouldn't stopping the legal battle, keeping quiet for a few months and then burning it down be easier and more fun?

racist boomers are just the worst. at least in the good old days the bigots would get their hands dirty.

The "or prohibiting the free exercise thereof" part. Lots of people seem to ignore that part for some reason.

That's what's so hilarious. The Muslim community center wasn't supposed to benefit from the zoning laws in the community that make exceptions for religious buildings. Oops!

Fjornir: Is Murfreesboro the shiathole I imagine it to be?

Not really... It's actually pretty nicely kept up for Middle Tennesee... I lived there for about a year...right down the road (2 miles) from the new mosque... No one has a problem of course with the 3-4 MASSIVE Christian church complexes on the same road of course...and the Mosque has been in Murfreesboro for like..30 goddamn years.
That's not to say there isn't a racism issue, and there's a jack ass that lived in my neighborhood who keep rotating out giant Teatard inspired antiObama signs in his front yard every week.

And for those suggesting arson...it's actually been tried...some farktard torched construction vehicles after they broke ground.

Fluorescent Testicle: Dumbass tag? Can't tell if trolling or just racist.

Looks like the dumbass tag is for the bigots that are again trying to stop the opening of the mosque.

FTA A motion from the plaintiffs seeking to intervene in the federal court case claims they are "victims" of the Islamic Center of Murfreesboro, the county's zoning resolution and local government's "violation of the Tennessee Open Meetings Act."

Holy crap. Everybody is a victim.

Undoubtedly, and I can't imagine why anyone would want to live in a town full of backwards bigots.

Fewer brown people. It's a real selling point. Hell, in the cities, rent is dirt cheap in ethnic neighborhoods. Want to live around white folks? You gotta pay that no-ni@@a tax.

Well if you want to have standing to file a lawsuit, you have to have been hurt by the mosque in some way. Leads to some odd legal language.

"Show us on the doll where the minaret touched you."

What's really sad is that the second-most Christ-like people you're likely to meet are atheists, assuming you don't run into Ghandi.

Their complaint FTFA is satire worth of publication in the Onion as is:

"A motion from the plaintiffs seeking to intervene in the federal court case claims they are "victims" of the Islamic Center of Murfreesboro, the county's zoning resolution and local government's "violation of the Tennessee Open Meetings Act." The motion further contends their constitutional rights to due process and equal protection as citizens were violated."

Wonder if anyone told them that those vehicles don't belong to the Muslims and that the construction can get a new one on site from the local CAT dealer/renter that same day.

You are trying to say something here, but it's not entirely clear what. Perhaps you could elaborate. Do you mean:

1) Democrats try to stop mosques from being built
2) Democrats try to stop religious buildings from being built
3) Democrats refuse to accept court rulings
4) Something else.

If it's 1, 2, or 3, I would love to see your evidence. If it's 4, please be more specific.

Idiots. The way to derail development these days is to file environmental lawsuits and tie things up in court for decades. I thought everyone knew that.

Hey, you just watered your grass. That makes your property a wetland.

Soooo...under the slippery slope concept of the constitutionalists (is that a word?), does this mean stricter guidelines for gun ownership?
