Lemon parties still okay, though, right?

2012-07-31 01:22:45 PM
What about Facebook burnings?

2012-07-31 01:25:07 PM
300 police for a party of maybe 150 people. Boy, that sounds like a fun party.

It stinks that they fine this guy for the city behaving incompetently and overreacting. I wonder what other mistakes the city has made recently that it could pin on him or others.

You know who else banned certain parties in Germany?

2012-07-31 01:51:40 PM
So he knew it was illegal, did it anyway, and is now upset he's been billed for it? Ok.

How about a Rainbow Party?

Ain't no party like a Gesichtsbuch party, 'cause a Gesichtsbuch party won't start.

I think ever German citizen, from birth, should have to pay Israel 45% of their annual wage.

2012-07-31 03:49:03 PM
The newspaper said he earns about 560 euros a month but will now have to reimburse the city and police 227,052 euros.

"We're definitely going to collect these fees in accordance with state rules," he said.

Collect, how, exactly?

First they made the Nazi party illegal, and I did not speak out because I was not a Nazi. Then they made Facebook parties illegal, and I did not speak out because I am not a Facebook.

Then they came for my party, and there was no one left to speak out for me.

You should read up on the conditions under which the Nazis were able to come into power.

THIS!

The city panicked, and now this poor guy has to pay for it?! Maybe they should have sent out 10 cops or so, just to see how it was going, and have the rest on call... Just a thought.

Once again, someone's life is ruined by Facebook, the scourge of modern society. Bet Scmuckergurg is laughing all the way to the bank......actually it was probably the guys own stoopidity that did him in.....Get a brain, Moran!!!

Also according to my math, if he gave his entire paycheck every month toward the fine, it would take him 33 years to pay it off.

That sounds reasonable...

Yeah, I'm inclined to agree. But the dude had a party with thousands of RSVP's. Everyone in pretty much every country should know you need permits and the like for those sorts of things.

But, yeah, 300 is insane. 300 is something they'd send to patrol all of Mardi Gras down here.

I'm very curious exactly what law makes the party illegal...

Meh, a 10% invite acceptance to showing up rate is pretty much on par with most Facebook parties.

At least German Sparkle Party is still legal.

So... Why exactly is it illegal to organize a party through Facebook?

fly_gal: So he knew it was illegal, did it anyway, and is now upset he's been billed for it? Ok.

Typically, one doesn't imagine a fine like that. I mean really, 300 cops for 180 people? On what planet is that sane? Do you *really* think the fine is justified?

2012-07-31 04:10:05 PM
I may be wrong about this, but I think 'facebook' in German means 'baby farking'..they just forgot to put the little dots over the O. This makes a huge difference.

2012-07-31 04:10:45 PM
I wonder why they don't do this with those westboro idiots? They made a big stink about coming down here and protesting a soldiers funeral. The town went into full cop mode. They had 2 mobile command centers, a mobile jail, a helicopter flying around and lord knows how many cops all set up at this church. Then those farkers didn't even show up. I want to know how much money our town spent on all that crap just because a few idiots threatened to come to town. Westboro has it down now. They can hamstring a towns police force without even setting foot in it. If they show up, OK...If they don't show, bill them for that shiat.

I too wish to visit the sins of the fathers upon their childrens' heads. The lamentations of women are best experienced in the key of G (as John Lennon would have wanted it), and property should be razed using torches no longer than 18".

spentmiles: There as dead as the 150 million Jews that the Germans executed.

What.

I'm not a holocaust denier by any stretch, but no. Liberal estimates place the number of dead as a result of the holocaust alone as 18 million at most. Of those, 5 - 9 million were Jews.

You forgot banning the Communist Party in the middle there.

//Federal Sup Ct banned both

When you murder one Jew, you murder every Jew that Jew would have had sex with.

If that's correct that means they make 200 euros more in one day than the guy they are fining makes in entire month. Doesn't something seem a bit off there?

They were expecting thousands originally. Police don't apparently know that only 10% of your accepted list normally show...

2012-07-31 04:23:35 PM
Divide the fine by all the people who said they would attend and fine them too.

Interestingly enough, more people turned up when people made a public invitation to their parties instead of family/friends. 2k people show up, 8 of those are troublemakers who break stuff and the kneejerk reaction was to ban facebook parties.

We have also outlawed flashmobs.

Soccer and soccer riots are still fine though.

I wonder what legal avenues he still has? I'd think 200k+ euros is an unreasonable punishment, even in Germany.

You forgot costs for gas getting there, the beer they needed to bring, along with the munchies budget.
/Not cool showing up to a party empty handed
