Wow, it's almost as if America's obligations in the Middle East are complex and multi-layered, where an ill-advised comment could have vast repercussions that could embolden other powers to try and take advantage.

Me Romney
Me play joke
Me tax away discretionary spending from the middle class and poor so they can't buy Chinese goods!
Then I shiat in your coke!

China criticized Mitt Romney on Tuesday, saying the U.S. presidential candidate's statement that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel could worsen an already tense Mideast situation, or even re-ignite a war between Palestinians and Israelis.

Wait, what? Now China's pissed? He hasn't even gone there yet, FFS.

And this is Mitt trying to show how much better he would be at foreign policy than Obama?

I think that's about the worst thing I've ever heard. *pause* How marvelous.

/Romney's been chasing the presidency his whole life just to fail now?

But how does this tie in to potential troubles with Romney's biggest Sugar Daddy Adelson's Chinese UnderAge Prostitute and Gambling Palace of Macau?

It's a good thing the president deals primarily with budgets and the national economy, while Congress handles international relations

Romney made China sounds moderate and peace loving.

Think about that for a second.

Meh, they're just covering their asses on Taiwan. They're concerned that if Americans start going around acknowledging reality, someone's going to offer them a seat at the table.

So much for not interfering with President Obama's foreign policy.

Or the American foreign policy with regard to Israel dating back to at least Carter.

I'm just curious who said "An American commented on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Let's ask China what they think!"

Is China just dogpiling on to the international hate for Romney or is there a particular reason they made a statement?

I think it's more that the big players in the international scene, like Britain and China, realized that Mitt could cause serious trouble if he's put in charge. "Unpredictable" is just as bad for foreign relations as it is for the economy.

China and Russia would both like to break America's alliances in the region. If Syria falls, Iran is pretty much the only important ally they have left. Like I implied above, I think they're just priming the prime by saying that if Romney backs Israel unconditionally, China is going to make a play in the region.

Mittens appears to have zero awareness of the interconnecteness of geopolitics. Does he not understand that if you say something the entire planet knows what you said and has formed an opinion within hours?

I'm beginning to wonder if it might be for best to actually just go full retard from the top down just to speed up the point where we have to really start fixing things.

Imagine the damage this guy's presidency could have on organized religion.

He does not understand that being rich doesn't matter on the world stage. He truly believes no one is allowed to question him or criticize him. He is probably disappointed he cannot fire China for insubordination or talking back.

I've figured out exactly what Romney was talking about when he said he'd take a tough stance on China. He's going to squeeze every dime out of the lower and middle classes (a la Prince John from the animated film), leaving them with no cash to buy imported goods. The effect will stall Chinese economic development for at least another two decades.

Now it all makes sense!

I think China mostly just wants stability.
If something retarded happens in the middle-east, that could easily effect China.
It's just a hop skip and a jump to go from the middle-east past Tajikistan and into China.

Actually while I'm thinking of it ... I'm some times shocked that China and the USA aren't better allies.
The folks in both places are a lot more alike than I think most people figure.

I read one of the sentences in the article as, "Romney also suggested derping a trip to Israel that he was open to move the U.S. Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, something the Israelis have long sought but the U.S. has refused to do because it would imply recognition of Israeli sovereignty over the entire city."

I had to read the sentence again to see the word as "during." Derping really does cover his entire trip.

/And bonus points for ticking off China. It just proves Romney is "tough" on them.

The current CCP usually favors stability and neutrality. Instability poses a threat to their regime on the one hand, and to the progress they've made over the last 30 years o the other.

Seeing as Israel has only existed since the end of World War 2, this really doesn't make any sense.

Israel has existed for 3,000+ years.
