Decillion: Roger Moore = Best Bond.

Everything about this looks farking awesome, especially Bardem. Love the scene with Bond adjusting his cufflinks after leaping into the train.

The opening car chase of "Quantum of Solace" was pretty darn tasty as car chases go.

Indeed.

One of the best.

PIP_the_TROLL: This is the first of the Daniel Craig films I'm actually looking forward to.

*now* he's starting to look like James Bond. Now he's less of a thug and more of a super spy.

I enjoyed the moment there when the backhoe rips the end of the train off and he flips into the car, lands on his feet and immediately adjusts his sleeve like nothing happened.

gshepnyc: BruceLee1255: So my question for all the Farkers: Is it pretty much agreed that "James Bond" is a codename for 007, and not necessarily the guy's real name?

This was not Fleming's idea about it, but they've laid tiny hints that this is the case for the current series.

I thought he was a Time Lord?

Andrew Wiggin: entropic_existence: The_Cisco_Kid: Didn't know what "Skyfall" was referring to just by the headline, but that does sound interesting after skimming the article. I should probably start with the first Daniel Craig Bond film though if I ever do watch his version of the character. He was good in Cowboys and Aliens, never have seen him in anything that I can recall at least where he has a British Accent.

Watch Layer Cake, it's widely regarded as the movie that got him a shot at the role in the first place. Similar to a Guy Ritchie Brit-Crime movie like Lock, Stock in lots of ways. Great cast to boot.

goddamn that was a good movie

Thirded.

And no discussion of the various Bond actors is complete without this:

Is it me, or do some of the scenes look like they're borrowed from Jeffrey Deaver's novel, "Carte Blanche?"

fusillade762: You Only Live Twice - 70

fusillade762: A View to a Kill - 39

fusillade762: The World Is Not Enough - 51

I take no issue with the rankings on View to a Kill and The World is Not Enough but holy fark, You Only Live Twice is ranked HIGHER than those two?

Did the people giving it good ratings not actually watch that stinkfest before they rated it?

Rwa2play: Maybe his only redeeming one was "The Spy Who Loved Me." "For Your Eyes Only"

Maybe.

FTFM.

True. It was the only Moore flick where he practically dispensed with the corny one-liners and silliness and actually played it straight. Guess it didn't suit him since he went right back to " Bond,Jester Bond" after that.

beta_plus: oldfarthenry: Decillion: Roger Moore = Best Bond.

That is all.

Having grown up with Roger Moore as the Bond of my youth I would say that until Craig came along (with the sublime Casino Royale) that he was my favorite too. Not every Bond can walk over alligators!

Bond 'gator hoppin'
