McCain should just go ahead and switch parties.

Ever get the feeling McCain is either about to retire or jump ship from the GOP?

Every now and then I get the sense that McCain is actually pretty decent fellow caught up in the wrong party. He takes a turn here and there and says the right thing, but then will do stupid shiat like take Sarah Palin as his VP against Obama.

50% of the time with McCain I'm....

Be careful, this density of wrong could be enough to create a black hole and end the universe.

Epoch_Zero: You mean the same John McCain that supported Bush's veto on a bill to ban torture?

Hey now that's different and you know it. It's only "torture" if it's done to white people.

Come on now guys torture today is different than torture back then. In McCain's day there were canings, electrocutions, leeches, rotten food, and lord knows what else.

Today we have our detainees being forced to listen to top 40 pop music while having pig feet super glued to their mouths. And when they get bored of that they can read wet Korans dripping with toilet water.

It's called "a shred of decency", and McCain seems like the only Republican with one left these days.

There are a few dozen dead people who the US tortured to death who would disagree with you if they weren't dead from all of the torture.

Yeah, that guy. He used to be a pretty good guy, round 1999 or so. Maybe a little harsh, maybe not everyone's cup of tea, sure. But then he got screwed out of the 2000 race by dirty politics and cronyism, and he sold all his integrity down the river in 2008 so he could be the nominee. And now I'll never believe anything he says, because I can't tell if it's the guy I thought was decent and reasonable or if it's the policy shill for the Republican Party.

Another day another case where McCain says something that should be common sense but because he is in a party of extremists he gets to be lauded as a hero. It's like being the least smelly turd in the punchbowl, you're still feces in our beverage, McCain. And! fark you for Palin and her gang of travelers, old douche.

He and I had strong disagreements on whether we should torture people or not. I didn't think we should have.

Holy shiat, he did. Good on ya, Oldtimer.

*golf clap*

But the fact is that I'm proud of Sarah Palin, I'm proud of the job she did, I'm proud of the job she continues to do.

K, ya lost me there.

Being an unwatchable reality TV star, part time grifter and purveyor of badly ghost-written books and pants-on-head retarded tweets is not a job.

A con job, perhaps.

"Rarely do I disagree with best VP ever but @SarahPalinUSA more qualified than Obama and Biden combined. Huge respect 4 all she's done 4 GOP

Apparently an ongoing one.

McCain never really had the integrity that everyone seems to believe. The events of the 2000 election just caused him to drop all pretense.

2012-07-31 12:30:48 PM
Uh huh. That must be why he was so fervent in punishing those who committed war crimes in our name by....nah, just kidding, he towed the line and followed the marching orders regarding torture. This is just petty talk from a sore loser.

deadcrickets: Ever get the feeling McCain is either about to retire or jump ship from the GOP?

His ego won't let him. Jumping ship would imply that the GOP is full of nutballs. He picked one of the biggest nutballs of all time as his running mate, and standing by that choice means standing with the GOP. McCain= Pandora. He's apparently going to take that to the grave with him, even when others are starting to throw her under the bus.

Why is Cheney talking anyhow? Post-reign, aren't they just supposed to shut up and keep their heads down? That's about the only think I really like about Bush--he's been very quiet and respectful of the current President, and has shown a certain amount of class in doing so.

Something about Obama makes him so angry he wouldn't even stand for his inauguration, I can't imagine what some old white republican might find so repulsive about Obama...

Repubs everywhere agree--the satanic spawn of John Wayne Gacey and a lemur with Down Syndrome would be better than any Democrat who ever lived because socialism, party before country and OMG he's black. Seriously, they would rather the country go down the toilet than allow a Democrat to take credit for rescuing things. That's not an exaggeration. They saw Democratic policies under Clinton bring the country to new heights of wealth and respect and their only response was "We'd better not let THAT happen again!" Now they've blocked, interfered with or undercut every program Obama tried to implement to rescue the economy and triumphantly point to his inability to overcome their sabotage as proof of his incompetence (there's a little bit of truth to that--he should have cut them off at the knees and held Federal payments to red states hostage to get his programs implemented instead of fecklessly reaching across the aisle). The only reason to vote for Romney, in my opinion, is that the conservative business owners who are deliberately holding back economic recovery by postponing business expansion and hiring--and don't tell me they don't exist, I know at least two personally--will allow the economy to recover under a Romney presidency. So if you favor caving in to economic terrorism, by all means vote for Mitt Romney.

Please, raise my taxes back to 1999 levels. And raise Romney's, Adelson's and Cheney's taxes back to 1955 levels.

"Rarely do I disagree with best VP ever but @SarahPalinUSA more qualified than Obama and Biden combined. Huge respect 4 all she's done 4 GOP," she wrote."

McCarthy-with-tits adores Say-rah the theocrat?

Color me shocked.

When farking Power Line calls you out for crossing the line, you can rest easy knowing you're the one of the craziest biatches on the block.

Liz Cheney is the daughter of Darth Vader... that means she's going to try to OUTDO Darth Vader in order to win his love and respect... AND she's going to dial it up another notch beyond that to prove she's as tough as a boy.

John McCain, proof torture works.

From Wiki:

Interrogation and beatings resumed in the hospital; McCain gave the North Vietnamese his ship's name, squadron's name, and the attack's intended target.[118] This information, along with personal details of McCain's life and purported statements by McCain about the war's progress, would appear over the next two weeks in the North Vietnamese official newspaper Nhân Dân[103] as well as in dispatches from outlets such as the Cuban news agency Prensa Latina.

He disagreed with Cheney on torture?

Then maybe he should have farking spoken up about it when it was happening. Not four years after the fact. Not as a retort to an insult.

Perhaps when it might have been worth something to do so.

2012-07-31 01:33:32 PM
To me, McCain and Huckabee are very similar. Most of the time they seem like normal guys who you'd like to sit and chat with, but then they'll throw this haymaker-of-stupidity and ruin any respect I began to build for them.

How can you throw out a huge hit on Cheney like that then blow it all by saying Palin was and is a good person?

Fry's 100th Cup of Coffee: Every now and then I get the sense that McCain is actually pretty decent fellow caught up in the wrong party.

You're confusing what you saw in 2000 and prior with the McCain from the 2008 election.

FTA: The former vice president criticized Mr. McCain's vice presidential pick in an interview with ABC, saying that Mrs. Palin did not have the qualifications necessary to become president.

The former vice president criticized Mr. McCain for picking a candidate based on what demographic he wanted to appeal to during the election.

It's a rare day that I agree with Dick Cheney but he's nailed this one 100% and actually come out and said it. RINO!

2012-07-31 01:39:50 PM
The very possibility of that statement being made in a non-hyperbolic fashion is an indictment of the American political system under Bush II and its hypocritical stance on human rights. Cheney should be in the dock at Der Haag alongside Bush and luminaries of human rights such as Charles Taylor and Bashar al Assad, whose torture regime was great when Dubya and Stephen Harper needed a place to send people for "enhanced interrogation" and to be forgotten.

Fark all these people with power.
