M32 MGL

Neat, that thing can take HEAT rounds.

With an effective range of up to 1000 meters. These people travel together and you can't get close. They're either military or Jersey girls.

I'd just like to make a clarification. Anaheim is North Orange County, which is nothing at all like the rich white fenced in planned community enclaves you'll find in South Orange County. I live in a part of Anaheim that would make the South County richers shiat their pants in fear, what with all the unsavory dark and ethnic types walking around.

\just sick of people hearing you live in orange county and immediately linking you with the shiatheads on Real Housewives

Perhaps they just flipped off President George.

The Homer Tax: RangerTaylor: I think police are a good and vital thing, but the bad ones simply have the potential to be very bad.

Don't worry, I know you called the cops because your wife made you. I'm married with a small child as well, I know how it goes.

That said, the real point is that while the vast majority of cops might be great, it only takes one bad one to ruin or end your life forever. Thank god you didn't answer the door holding a gun like that one guy from last week. Cops treat every encounter with civilians like it could be one that would result in their death, civilians would be wise to treat every encounter with cops the same.

If you don't it just might be. Also sucks when they raid the wrong house. Oops

What it is ain't exactly clear

I think it's becoming more clear every day

/the question is how can we stop it?

By not voting for candidates promising to be "tough on crime". Getting involved to stop the militarization of the police. Making sure your local city cops don't waste money on military grade stuff like armored cars and other DHS gear they won't need. Proposing laws to impose liability on "no-knock" raids that target the wrong house.

Lots of stuff to do, or we could just whine on Fark like I'm doing.

RangerTaylor: You can have the last word though, because I'm sure it's important to you.

I'm calling you out on this, because it's a tactic that I use.

Inviting someone else to have the last word is a back-door attempt at getting the last word in because you are trying to shame someone into not responding (therefore you get the last word).

I call shenanigans, everyone grab their brooms.

No no, everything is okay with that case because the cops called "backsies" and "our bad". So everything's cool.

I love how the video at the bottom says "This video of police shooting rubber bullets into crowd of women and children as well as unleashing a dog that attacked a women holding her baby", when the video is police using paintball markers/beanbag rounds and a dog attacking a man with police trying to pull the dog off.

Then again, looking at some of this sucky blogger's other posts, he appears to be a conspiracy nutball:

This is dismaying. I spent hours breaking down this Directive for you, stripping out and presenting those parts that pertain to Civil Unrest.

True story, a black helicopter flew directly over my house which is common here and, when I saved and previewed this draft, everything in the Extended (Optional) section disappeared and all the information in the Introduction had been copy/pasted in its place. I DID NOT DO ANYTHING to cause this to happen.

M32 MGL

Two "product improved" variants were introduced in 2004 by Milkor USA. The first is the Mk 1S, which replaces the aluminum frame of the Mk 1 with a stronger stainless steel body, a conventional trigger unit, and Picatinny rail support at the top, sides and bottom of the forend. The second variant is the MGL-140 or Mk 1L, with the same features as the Mk 1S, but with a 140 mm (5.5 in) long cylinder to fit special-purpose grenades such as tear gas canisters and less-lethal impact rounds that are too long to fit in the other models shorter cylinder. The MGL-140/Mk 1L also features a sliding buttstock.

The little farkers have the best toys on the block.

RobotSpider: When did we start drawing distinction between camo and military camo? Camo is just camo. Yes, the military uses it, but they also wear pants. Should we refer to every pair of dockers as "military pants"? Hunters also wear it. Does that make hunters "private contractors"? If they had warn black jumpsuits, they'd have been called "paramilitary outfits". If they'd warn uniforms, it would have been called "military uniforms".

I think the distinction here is that this particular type of camo is what is actively being used by our military in Iraq and Afghanistan. That along with the fact that the officers (or whatever) in question don't seem to be in a desert combat situation, so they are clearly not using it to blend into the background. They are using it to strike a particular image.

Corvus: libranoelrose: Corvus: 404 page not found: dookdookdook: Dokushin: You're right -- police officers are clearly the most trustworthy element of society and should be entrusted with exclusive rights to firearms due to that high standard.

Hardly. But the solution is to de-militarize the police, not fill your basement full of ammo.

The police have a combined budget in the billions. Your average redneck militia loon has a budget of whatever a Jiffy Lube mechanic makes. It's an arms race you just aren't going to win.

I'm not so sure about that. According to Alex Jones, James Holmes spent $20,000 on an AR-15, a Remington 870, and two 40 caliber Glocks. That's just one guy. And that adds up, let me tell you.

So now you think it was the police? but wait, I thought it was the military like you have been defending retardsubmitter.

Amazing how that works.

[i.imgur.com image 573x860]

Yeah you would think the words "POLICE " on their jacket would be a give away but 404 page not found must have problem reading long words like that.

The police are doing everything they can to look and act like the military. The police obviously want to be perceived as a military force. Of course when a police force starts militerizing for all intents and purposes they are military. Do you think they will react differently because their paycheck isn't from the army?
They look like soldiers, they act like soldiers that's all that matters.

Fark the so called "protesters." Only a small percentage of them are there to protest the shooting. The rest are looters and anarchists, vultures looking for an oppurtunity to steal and/or destroy everything under the disguise of "protesting."

When you start terrorizing the locals, like this actual innocent group who hid under a bar at Starbucks, to get away from "protesters" who had smashed the windows and were looting the place, you lose any sympathy I had for your cause because you don't give a flip about your cause. So, why should I?

You know the reason why they are protesting at Disneyland isn't because of the shooting. It's to get a chance to destroy Disneyland.

Yeah, it wouldn't have anything to do with years and years of the police killing and beating and wrongfully imprisoning the people. It wouldn't have anything to do with the fact that the poor are barely feeding themselves while the CEOs make $15mil/yr at a 15% taxable rate. It wouldn't have anything to do with any legitimate issue, any injustice which demands retribution from free men. No. It's just them wanting free shiat and lashing out at Disneyland.

Again, sorry everybody. I was hoping for some sort of explanation, but I guess by the responses I got the explaining I'm gonna get. That is cool. Obviously, I hit a raw nerve.

Carry on.

"another young man of color has been gunned down." is intentionally reminiscent of the 60s and 70s, which KOS fancies us reliving these days. I see a lot of what they see, and come to a lot of the same conclusions, only tempered with an air of pragmatic apathy. That phrase was specifically chosen to get the reader to recall the times when racial tensions led to serious, continuous, nationwide violence.

Take a look around KOS and you'll see the revolutionary trappings all over the place. It's like the black panthers, code pink, the brady campaign and "The Gay Agenda" all met one day back in the mid 2000's and realized how much they had in common.

A little extreme. Sure. A little inflammatory. yep. Mostly accurate? A discerning reader will learn plenty from the site.

The Tea Party/Militia bunch won't be rounded up and put into camps, they'll be convinced by the despot that they need to go shoot all those evil Liberals before they put on their UN uniforms and take over the country.
