cc_rider: Biggest complaint about NBC coverage so far is that it's probably the most American-centric I've ever seen, and I've been watching all the summer and winter games since 1976. Of course we want to see our own athletes, but perhaps they could take a few minutes from fellating Michael Phelps to run some interesting coverage about athletes from other countries.

It's an international competition, and it's not just all about us. Sadly, it fits the pattern for the utter shiate our media has become. Yes I know you can watch all the games online. That's not the farking point. :(

THIS. Quoted for truthiness. Bears repeating.

That would be awesome.

WxGuy1, someone just posted some alternatives - I can't get them to work in my browser, but I'm using safari (I can't watch NBC on safari either, but I can on Chrome). Anyway, those sites look like they work (especially for live stream).

hehehe that spin actually first appeared just after break dancing was big

The USA as a whole isn't exactly too interested in other countries.

Is it just me, or does the premise for 'revolution' make no sense? Does something happen that changes the laws of thermodynamics completely so that even things like steam power no longer works? If so, how the heck does anything get done, period.

If its just like a massive emp, just create new crap, if it's just electricity that doesn't work for some strange reason, use chemical energy.

There is no "USA as a whole."

It would take quite a while to make that shift. It would take only days for people to be in the streets if electricity failed.

Candles work, so chemical energy certainly works - where are the guns again? My guess is they probably spent so much time on the ridiculous premise they failed in the actual writing of the show.

The Olympics are interfering with NBCs crappy reality/sitcom shows. Sure they are killing everyone in the ratings but it looks like one big highlight reel.

I haven't been poring over those commercials. But of course there should be guns - for awhile anyway. How long is the absence of electricity? Candles aren't going to get the internets going again.

Would be weird, last time there was a power outage none of the local stores would accept cash. But, I wonder how much cash there actually is - or would be, after the initial run on physical banks.

Surely some people would be parsimonious with their ammo - just not everybody (maybe Crossbow girl only has a crossbow - I don't have a gun, myself, just bows).

Yeah, but the promos show things having been that way for years (wrigley field overgrown by nature). There is still enough steam operated things in the USA alone that could be put back into service tomorrow with no electricity needed, and there are easily ways to create new electronics that shouldn't be affected by whatever happened unless it's some stupid ongoing alien effect bs that magically interferes with electrical signals. But if that were true, most life would have ceased to exist almost immediately, as electrical currents are vital parts of nervous systems working.

I will still check it out, but I'm guessing there will be way more that annoys me about it than entertains me.

It's to keep coaches from filing frivolous petitions of protest. Basically it's a way to keep coaches from trying to muscle in with the judges. It wouldn't be wrong to call it the Bela rule....

All you see one promos are bows and swords. No chemically powered projectiles.

Electricity could go out tomorrow, and it would take a few days for enterprising people to utilize steam power to at least power various forms of mechanical energy items. They'd be living in the 1800's, not what looks like medieval times.
