1) It doesn't need to be. Gender is the trait at issue, not sexual orientation per se. Specifically, in almost every case of discrimination on this issue, the perpetrator has no direct knowledge of the subject's sexual orientation, but is rather making a judgement based on gender and/or gender stereotypes.
In other words, Ellen can't marry Portia because Ellen's a woman, not because Ellen's gay, as the clerk has never seen them in bed. Or Brett's getting fired because he fails to act properly masculine, not because his manager caught him blowing someone.

2) Sexual conduct between consenting adults should be separately protected as a fundamental right under the 5th and 14th amendments. Unless it has a compelling interest, the government shouldn't be involved in the contents of your underwear or what you do with them with other consenting adults.

I've always been confused about peoples' problems with the 'bi' orientation. Pure insecurity, perhaps? Are they worried you'll wake up one day and "switch sides"?

Aarontology: Sure you can. She's attracted to both men and women. She's bi.

For some it's really not that simple. What if you're into pre-op trans? Androgyny? It's easier to just say a person is attracted to whoever they're attracted to than trying to label everyone. If you must put someone in a box, use the general 'pansexual'.

I've been married for 20 years. You love who you love. If you are in it for the long haul the parts (to me) aren't an issue, the person is.

Though the whole "fluid" thing does raise some interesting issues about sexuality we're afraid to admit for men. Women are "allowed" in most cases to explore bisexuality and lesbianism because it's "hot," and men aren't because either it's "gross" or, from the other side, they're "secretly gay but won't admit it."

There are plenty of these women out there, but Gillian Anderson is 40+ and already has money. I tend to believe her.

Why can't so many folks get that bisexual attraction is a possibility?
It's kinda freaky how some cannot comprehend something other than gay or straight.

So she's got a movie or book coming out or something?

That's silly.

Sex is good. You like what you like. If you only like men, you're one thing. If you only like women, you're another. If you're into both you're another.

But at the end of the day, all those labels don't matter as long as it feels good.
