Did Barack Obama go overseas before he got the Democratic nomination? I don't think he did, which is what makes this grand continental tour Titt Romney is on so strange. Does he think he can just buy the Presidency and his mind, he's already head of state and discussing policy with other heads of state?

I was thinking something along the lines of "Ich bin ein Berliner" or lecturing Walensa on the evils of unions.

He'll probably mention Bain's investments in a submarine screen door factory.

There are so many variables, and he's such a quantum dip that there's no way you can predict it. He might say "Wow, this place is dirty. Can't you afford to clean your buildings?" Or he might say "This looks like the food we feed my dog." Or he might go with "Wow, no wonder in my country 'polack' is another word for idiot." Maybe even "When I was growing up I heard about the Warsaw Ghetto but it looks like you've really cleared the riff raff out and filled it up with decent hard working people."

But it will likely be something we never expected. Something completely out of the blue.

Only time will tell.

I think no one told him that foreigners can't vote for President.

Actually, Mormons hold that Jesus is the "Jehovah" of the Old Testament, taking literally the Calvinist idea that all relationships between God the Father and the world are mediated through Christ. So Jesus Christ was the creator of Earth, and holds dominion over it through his royal birthright as the firstborn spirit child of God the Father and a Heavenly Mother. So Jehovah (Jesus's) planet is Earth. Kolob is technically a star near where the entrance to Heaven/Throne of God is located--not really a planet. Serves as an anchor to find the realm.

American expats can vote as long as they retain their citizenship. There is a long tradition of candidates going overseas for foreign policy meetings. And as far as I know, all the fundraisers have been with American expats who can legally donate to POTUS campaigns. The trip itself is not controversial. And it wouldn't be surprising that al-Chicago didn't travel out of the country--given that he was locked in a battle with the Clintonistas.

Good. You're more up to speed than most of the public. Glen Larson talks a lot about this in the DVD commentary. The original show is premised a great deal on LDS theology, along with Von Daniken's "Chariots of the Gods." Lorne Greene does a great job as a Mormon patriarch. :-)

He did, and he was extremely well received. He also went to Israel and managed not to stir the hornet's nest. Europe welcomed him with huge crowds.

Meanwhile, we have these guys to look forward to

Nice vid. I often mention how all the Bush/Cheney chickenhawks have managed to crawl their way into Romney's campaign, because I think it's an incredibly important and too-often overlooked fact. Romney is like putty to them, and once they're back in charge it's going to be war war war with Iran, regardless of what Romney thinks. I'm gong to repost that vid for convenience:

If you don't know that most of the sonsab*tch neocons responsible for the Iraq War are now in Romney's campaign, watch this video.

If people don't know this, Its partly because Fox has no interest in taking time to point this out, much less question it. And the Democratic Party has been predictably lame and pussified in making this part of a forceful case to the public.

I agree, but if there's one thing Obama's campaign has shown it can do, it's land a punch. It's inconceivable to me that they wouldn't mention the warmongers in Romney's campaign at SOME point later on. Bush's legacy is so toxic that they'll still do anything to compare Romney to him...

I guess I could look this up. We dont vote for president. We vote for electors. So WHICH electors are expats voting for? which state?? Where are they registered to vote if they live abroad. And to be clear, we are talking about expats, not people working abroad for a shorter period. Where do military votes get counted? the base their unit is based at?
The whole thing is a bit strange in this day and age.

It's where you claim your US residency. It's really not that strange. You have an address, maybe a relative's if you don't maintain a home, that you use as your official address. Taxes, registering to vote, anything official is done with that.

Yeah, a lot of people think a Romney presidency will just be fun and games: a new reality show with killer ratings, Lifestyles of the Rich & Presidential, more tax cuts for the top, a big fark you to the poor and evil evil teachers, and so a lot of libraries will disappear, ha ha,that's not too bad, a majority will suffer but at least they can dream, and not worry about teh gheys and brown people, that's why we have wifi...isn't USA great???

But he's got all those bastards telling him, like they told W, that sure, they always wanted Baghdad, but real men want Tehran. And that Israel/Palestine thing, ha ha, we can just wade in an unilaterally pick one side and fark all the consequences, that's why we have poor people just waiting to get sent off to war.

farking assholes ruin my day, every day.

I realize it's highly unlikely, but can you imagine the lulz if the convention goes FUBAR and he somehow loses the nomination after all this prancing around the world.

Romney did better in Israel than in the UK. Sucking off the Israelis, pissing off the Palestinians, and threatening Iran was what he was there to do . Warmongering is the official neocon policy.

The Poland trip will likely result in disaster, though.
