I never use pepper spray on the elderly. They respond better to a few jolts from a cattle prod.

I personally prefer a baseball bat. Aluminum for that ping sound. Since their bones are so brittle, you're pretty much guaranteed to make them a nursing home resident with each home run.

I can understand the woman's frustration. The old couple must have been stopped in the red zone.

Remember, people: The WHITE zone is for immediate loading and unloading of passengers only. There is no stopping in the red zone.

"visiting the Home Depot". I suppose that is perfectly cromulent, but "visiting" just feels like the wrong word to be using there.

Anyways, that is quite the bizarre incident. Reminds me of the ragers that believe everyone is farking with them, when in fact the other drivers are oblivious.

If anybody else comes in here to biatch about old people and their associated quirks, take a step back from the keyboard, take a deep breath, and then decide at what point a proportional response is to spray them in the farking face with farking pepper spray.

Since time began, old people have complained about young people. Your grandparents thought your parents were hopeless pricks. Your great-grandparents said the same thing about your grandparents.

My 80+ year old grandparents still drive, but then, they also still play >6 hrs of tennis per week, can occasionally beat me at Jeopardy! and consistently complete the Times Sunday crossword in 2-3 hrs.

Although nothing excuses using pepper spray on them, I'm sure theres more to what happened than this story told. She was probably stuck behind this 82 year old guy driving slow as shiat for several blocks before turning into the parking lot. Then, if he's anything like the idiots around here, he didn't pull over to the curb to let his wife out, he simply stopped in the middle of the driving lane. Add to that how utterly slow a 72 year old handicapped woman would get out of a car and walk to the curb and I think you get a better picture of what happened.

The problem is most parking lots are not designed for people to be dropped off (I'm thinking grocery stores). There's enough room for traffic to go in both directions and that's about it. Anyone who is self-absorbed enough to hold up traffic in order to save a few steps is deserves to be publicly humiliated, particularly if there is an empty parking space withing spitting distance (which I'm sure there would be if one were handicapped). I'm sorry your wife is handicapped. Perhaps she shouldn't be the one doing the grocery shopping.

He probably parked on the main crosswalk and took absolutely forever, blocking traffic the whole time. This is why we have those handicap parking space like ten feet away from where he let her off.

Jesus. Easy there, Captain Compassion. Being handicapped does not allow you free access to an army of personal shoppers. She still needs shiat, she's just not as blessed as you are to be healthy enough to walk for long distances. You don't have 30 seconds to let her out of the car, but you have enough time to biatch about it and "publically humiliate" her. Is time precious or not? Make up your mind.

Exactly.

FTFA:
The husband, 82, was driving and stopped his car in front of the Home Depot to wait for pedestrians and to let his disabled wife, 72, get out of the car.

The bolded part is BS inserted to excuse the near guarantee that this old dude stopped in the middle of the road. I hate that shiat. I also see fat people do it because of their "disability."
