He's pretty fast for an old guy.

... with the left turn signal on the whole way?

I had a 90 year old neighbor speeding through town one day with the cops right behind him. He said he was just trying to get out of the way.

More fun if he would have been dropping the old women at Home Depot 8 threads down.

/Tuck and Roll, granny!

In all fairness he though the police Hot Rod Lincoln was a little Nash Rambler, and if he had let it pass his Cadillac it would have been a big disgrace. The big news is, with modern safety equipment you CAN come back from dead man's curve, even if you car cannot.

On a tricycle.

Difficulty? Foot presses the gas pedal all the way to the floor. Keep it there long enough and you get to 105 mph eventually.

Now if it was in this guy's Lark, that would be difficult.

I wasn't fleeing sh*t!
I was racing home from the bar to catch 'Matlock' and got distracted by a nice set of cans on a female pedestrian!

Maybe he had read the story about cop impersonators pulling people over and he didn't want to take any chances.

Someone spiked his Moxie with LSD and all he saw was farmers' markets the rest of the day.

No, no, you don't understand. He wasn't leading the police on a high-speed chase. He thought he was pushing the brake pedal.

Honest Bender: He's pretty fast fly for an old guy.

The article is a good reminder that in another decade or so I need to make sure to scrap the Wrangler and keep the Miata if I want to surpass this guys age/speed record.

My 70 year old mom was pulled for speeding this past weekend. She has always driven like a manic. And somehow never gotten a ticket.

The cop takes her license and goes back to his car. He returns and tells my mom he doesn't want to be the first to give her a ticket and lets her off with a warning.

She called me to brag about getting out of another ticket.

/he should have given her a ticket.
//she mocks me for driving legally
///not right

The guy in TFA is amateur hour. A friend went nuts after souping up a VW bug with a Jaguar engine and led a chase at nearly twice the speed through the Florida everglades several years ago. since he was a retired ex cop,.... :p

//as a small hint to those who know, this man has been on more rollercoasters than anyone walking on earth today.

I didn't know those Rascal scooters can go that fast.

FTFA:
was driving eastbound on Illinois Route 90 at 11:50 p.m. Saturday without a passenger side headlight
...
Carlson apparently did not see the turn in the road at the intersection of Route 90 and Illinois Route 91 and smashed straight through the guardrail.

The N. S. Sherlock Investigation Bureau and the Romero Institute of Stating the Obvious have discovered that insufficient light makes it difficult to see what lies ahead.

Mark Martin?

Perhaps his foot fell asleep on the gas pedal?

/Or else he forgot his Depends

74 is not really all that old when it comes to driving.

To be fair, he had to get to Old Country Buffet in time for the early-bird special.
