CavalierEternal: Does anyone have any gripes with any of the scientific theory presented in last week's episode before we begin?

Did you know they deliberately misstate that stuff so the great unwashed won't try it at home? For instance the scene with the defibrillator was ridiculous, and, I'm told, so is the meth-making.

show me: I don't care how much of a heartless asshole Walt becomes, I will always be a fan of his character and be on his side. I relate to him way more than anyone else in the show, by a long shot.

/Science major, not give enough respect, knowing you are smarter than people who control you, etc.

Of course, the irony of your post is that it's not Walt's intelligence that will be (and has been) his undoing, but his arrogance.

gunga galunga: MagSeven: bionicjoe: So no one has noticed that Skyler now smokes occasionally & Walt has a cigarette full of ricin?

Actually he just has the ricin vial now. He removed it from the cigarette.

But he can always put it back in another cigarette. Mike is a smoker. And so is Skyler. If her emotional breakdown continues to get worse, he may see her as a threat to his operation.

The cigarette was never a delivery method, only a way to hide the vial. If someone tried to smoke it, they would likely realize the cigarette wasn't normal. Also, the ricin would do anything as long as it's contained in the vial. The cigarette would just burn outside it.

I think its harder to build a compelling narrative now that the main conflicts that dominated the preceding seasons have been resolved (Gus, Cancer, etc.) The conceits about needing more money, the vague threat of the DEA, and Walt's increasingly psychopathic behavior aren't really gripping or "relatable" enough yet. Will be interesting to see if it/how it leads anywhere as things progress.

I think this might be where Walt becomes a character we no longer can have any sympathy for, as anything that was once good about him as a person has gone. Walt was likeable when he was doing things for a reason, whether it was to pay for the cancer treatment, Hank's physiotherapy or to provide a nest egg for his family. Now he just looks like he is doing it out of greed and for a power trip. Mike is the one with the most sense out of the lot, Mike is paying off the other guys to save all their skins, and Walt cannot see it purely because his ego is too big. While once he might have had to lie on the spot in order to save his own skin, now almost everything he says is a way to manipulate all and sundry. But then I was always under the impression that the series was going to be about how a man can go bad.

Is it just me or has the Walt-Jesse-Mike-Saul dynamic this season turned into some kind of dumb version of the A-Team, or as the show alluded to, The Three Stooges. It's been a while since I saw any of the previous seasons but I really don't remember it being this comical and over-the-top goofy/stupid.

I'm still enjoying it, but the show seems a lot different than before. Jesse's character seems totally incongruous to how he was in the past, and the now ramped up depiction of Walt as a now complete narcissistic maniac has gotten a little ridiculous. Were we supposed to infer in episode 2 that he was raping Skyler? At the rate it's going I cannot wait for literally every character except Saul and Hank to get theirs.

I thought it was pretty awesome when Marie hugged Walt like he was the victim and then he walked into the hallway and struck the stereotypical man about to beat his wife pose. Good shiat.

ontariolightning: walt you self preservation asshole
you just sold skyler out to save your ass

He would not have to sell her out if she had not given all thier money to her tax dodging boyfriend, whose books she helped cook.

Seriously, she helps herself to all that money like she is the banker in monopoly and then turns into a little biatch when Walt is forced to stand and fight because she spent all the money.... FARK her!!

Captain_Ballbeard: DoctorRock: ontariolightning: Trocadero: DoctorRock: Taking another look at the scene, it is definitely Sonic & Sega Racing All Stars. One minor quibble, however, is that Xbox controllers don't have the tilt sensor in them like the PS3 controllers do, so truning the controller like a steering wheel doesn't do anything.

im not a huge video game nerd, but ive always tilted the controller when ive played racing games, even without motion control. i dont even realize im doing it.

I remember the first time I ever played Super Mario Brothers on the brand new NES we got on Christmas day, I kept pulling the controller up in the air when Mario jumped. Little kids and girls tend to do that the very first time they ever handle a game controller, especially those of us who were 5 or so when we got an NES. Many, many people moved the NES controller around the first time they ever used it.

i didnt get an NES until i was 13
must be nice to grow up rich

its called a paper route

Damn straight. Want an Atari? Better go sell some Grit motherfarker!

Did people really have Grit routes? That shiat had to be a scam.

Well played.

On a different note, my wife described the episode as "boring." WTF? I thought it was pretty good; you can't have a bunch of murders every episode, and they did a good bit to advance the storyline, imho.

Anyone have any idea what the song was that was playing while Walt & Jesse were cooking? I liked it.

DoctorRock: ontariolightning: Yo amc i doubt even people from iowa will watch a show where a fat lady with bad teeth
talks about masturbation

you know...i do hate small town.....alot.......but much like FX, AMC seems to be taking chances on shows that normally wouldnt see the light of day on television.....gonna be alot of shiat but every now and then its a grand farking slam....

But reality shows don't deserve those chances. Look around at the cable landscape. Small Town Security would have been picked up by SOMEONE else. AMC didn't have to step in to make it happen. It would've found a home on Discovery or TLC.

OtherLittleGuy: Mike's gonna feel the Wrath of Walt.

I agree. Once Walt bought up Victor, you knew he was alluding to Mike being a problem.

Also: Skyler goes mental, OD's and dies. I thought that it happened when Marie was over, but no such luck.
