It's... farking... THE... FIRST... WEEK... OF... PRACTICE.

Nobody thought Tebow was going to be the starter. He's a multi-dimensional Brad Smith.

Tebow will start eventually. They're both terrible.

2012-07-29 02:06:28 PM
I'm reminded of the battle between Sonny Jurgensen and Billy Kilmer.

Difference? Sonny and George Allen are both in the Hall of Fame, the Redskins made the Super Bowl. The same won't be said about Sanchez, Ryan, and their Jets.

//Tebow might actually throw an uglier pass than Kilmer

Until they realized that Tim Tebow is not the starting QB.

C'mon, Jets fans. You know the team will start the season 3-0, then lose four in a row and the talk about letting Tebow start will intensify.

When they lose the first preseason game, the call for Tebow to start will become deafening.

8-8.

Welcome to the Tebow circus. This us only the beginning.

So the new quarterback who hasn't played with the team and executed the playbook yet doesn't have as good a first practice as the guy who has been the starting QB for three years? Go figure!

Um yeah, don't know why even a big Jets homer would assume they would win in Pittsburgh.

I would like to talk up the Bills and our improved defense, but I have no faith in this franchise.

Over/Under 0.5 games started for Tebow this season.

Who's taking the under on that? Anyone?

/anyone?

4-8 with an INT in 7-on-7 drills? Yeah, I'm impressed.

Mostly I just wish the NFL network would shut the fark up about the Jets. They're only one team. They went 8-8 last year. There's another nearby team that actually did kinda well last year, if you absolutely insist on NY teams sucking up 30 minutes of every hour. They've got video packages to introduce their Jets segments. They'll get one table of assjacks to talk about Tebow and Sampex for 10 minutes, and then pass it off to a DIFFERENT table of doofuses, to get their opinion on Tim Tebow's practice reps.

Jets fans stunned that their starting quarterback plays better than their back-up quarterback

This is only true if by "Jets fans" subby means "the sports media" or "Tebow faithful". Most Jets fans I know are ambivalent at best about the Tebow trade.

2012-07-29 02:54:50 PM
By the way, this is how real Jets fans feel about Tebow:

Link

But later, in team drills, Tebow held onto the ball too long on one play and a couple fans called for him to "Throw it, Tebow!" On a floating incompletion, they shouted, "Tebow, come on!" and "That's a Tebow ball!"

thesloppy: 4-8 with an INT in 7-on-7 drills? Yeah, I'm impressed.

It says

Tebow finished 4-for-4 with a sack in team drills and 4-for-6 in 7-on-7s.

and

Tebow took his own shot downfield, hitting Jeremy Kerley on a 40-yard pass of his own deep down the same right sideline. But the play was waved off thanks to an illegal procedure penalty on right tackle Stephon Heyer.

Right. I don't think the Stilluhrs are going to be that good, but they're still better than the Jets. (But I still expect them to finish third in the AFC North behind Cincinnati and Ballimourh.)

RepoManTSM: I would like to talk up the Bills and our improved defense, but I have no faith in this franchise.

They looked good last year until the injury bug hit about week ten.

You honestly think they'll lose Week Three in Miami? I think it's time to put down the bong.

No idea who wins this one, but the #1 rule of the NFL is that divisional games are always weird crapshoots.

Expect to see 15 "OMG good team in division X lost to bad team in division X LOLOLOLOL" headlines every season. Because nobody pays attention to this rule.

Tebow NEVER brings to Preseason practice. Or, Preseason games, for that matter. It's a Universal Constant.

If you could, somehow, convince him that outdoing Sanchez would guarantee the Jets a Playoff spot, he'll be on fire.

Yeah...so Tebow had 2 incompletions between both drills, and one of those incompletions was a long catch called back for an OL penalty. Meanwhile, Sanchez'es long completion came from a pass that was tipped by Revis, in order to finish 7-on7-s at 50% with an INT. Would you rather have the dude who looks uncomfortable throw for 75% on shorter passes, rather than a guy who looks perfectly comfortable throwing for 50% and an INT without a defensive rush?

See now that's on me, sorry. And I'd rather have Tebow than Sanchez just because I've seen Tebow play in the postseason, where I never pay attention to the Jets.

Hell I wish Tebow was still in Denver, considering who that buck toothed hillbilly signed to be the backup in Denver.

Of course, it just may be the Jets will suck, no matter which one is the quarterback.
If Tebow lights a fire under Sanchez, good luck...

Yeah, I'm looking at this roster, and with the possible exception of Revis, there's not anyone on the Jets I'd give a first look at for the HoF.

I'm a Saints' fan (and have been since before Jim Mora was famous for, "Playoffs?!"); pretty much every year we lose to the farking Falcons. But not in week three if the Falcons are in complete disarray at the start of the year. Save it for week nine. Week three in Miami will be Reggie Bush, a retread QB, Chad JohnsonOchocinco, and...? That's a bad football team. At least they still had Marino when Jimmy Johnson took over. Matt Moore? Matt Flynn? Silky Garrard? YGTBFKM.. Matt Millen couldn't have done a worse job.

Tebow just needs to admit he isn't a good passing QB and play some other positions. It's the only way the Jets can utilize him in a positive way (along with the wildcat formation). He has great football skills but he is probably the worst passing QB in the NFL.

Ken Anderson, Ken Stabler, and Dave Kreig would like a word.

Vodak Collins won't get in for the same reason Cris Carter probably doesn't get in. At least Collins took a team there. But so did Stan Humphries.

Being a Bronco fan and watching all of his games I'm going to go ahead and say he has yet to learn an NFL offense. He constantly misses reads and wide open recievers. The only success he had was when the coordinator threw away his offense and switched to the read option offense Tebowner has run his entire life.

Since 2009, the Jets are 2-1 at home vs. the Pats and 1-3 on the road
September 20 2009 Jets win in New York
November 22 2009 Jets lose at New England
September 19 2010 Jets win in New York
December 6 2010 Jets lose at New England
January 16 2011 Jets win at New England
October 9 2011 Jets lose at New England
November 13 2011 Jets lose ain New York

I don't think it's too big of a stretch to say they can pull it off at home this year.

You can't blame poor accuracy, poor footwork, inability to read a defense, being antsy in the pocket, etc on the system. He tries really hard, but he looks like shiat most of the time.

Went to the Jets Bills game at the meadowlands last year. A buddy of mine is a bills fan and I secretly wished the Jets would win just so we could make it out alive. luckily they did. He told me at the outset that the Bills have a chance if the Jets manage to do something sucky in the first 6 minutes of the game, like a 3-and out and the fans would instantly turn on them - which they did as predicted. They howled and cursed Sanchez all game long even though he threw 4Tds.
