Curious: propasaurus: Don't worry, I'm sure at some point he'll tell us what a failure Obama is for not closing Guantanamo.

i won't equate starting a war with closing Gitmo but damn it all Obama promised.

yeah it's just one of many broken promises but it's an important one. if Obama wanted any cred for that peace prize that sure would have added some.

Obama spent his first two years rolling over for this group or that one and we all have suffered because of it. and what did he gain? the farking teaparty in 2010. great trade asshole.

yes i will vote for him again.

I am hoping that Obama learned his lesson that you just cannot reason with the unreasonable. They're just too damn crazy.

Chris Rock once said that he thinks that Obama's "gonna go all gangsta" once he wins his second term. I hope to God he's right. I'd love to think of the righardst sputtering about Obama 50 years from now much like they are about FDR today.

I am hoping that Obama's tactic is like being the 10th Doctor. He gives the bad guys ONE last chance to stop doing the crap they're doing. If they refuse his offer and continue being dicks anyway, they end up getting the sh*t destroyed out of them.

Couple of obstacles between them and Iran

There was an entire ocean between us and Europe in 1943-44. We managed it.

Thanks for proving my point.

Yes, "we" managed it. A nation of 132 million people, at the time, with a large navy including and civilian oceanliners that were commandeered for troop transport. We had battleships; the Israelis have a few corvettes.

Not to mention that little speedbump of a sandbar called ENGLAND!

Mrtraveler01: Serious Black: Democracy is only good when it is controlled by people who are approved of by the Republicans. If they aren't, it is automatically illegitimate and should be crushed like a bug.

That's more or less the mindset of neoconservatives as far as the Arab Spring is concerned.

Disgusting isn't it?

FTA:

Romney argued that with the rise of democratically elected Islamist governments in some of the countries undergoing revolutions -- Egypt and Tunisia in particular -- the Arab Spring has turned out to be less of a boon for Western interests than it initially appeared.

"Clearly we're disappointed in seeing Tunisia and Morocco elect Islamist governments. We're very concerned in seeing the new leader in Egypt as an Islamist leader. It is our hope to move these nations toward a more modern view of the world and to not present a threat to their neighbors and to the other nations of the world," he said.

Holy fark, REALLY? Their problem with the Arab Spring is that they democratically elected Islamist governments?!!?!?!

Wow, Mitt Romney must really want the Jewish vote. I've never understood this because we're, what, 3% of the population? He's already got the billionaires in his corner so it's not like he's counting on Jewish money in excess of what he's already getting from the likes of Adelson. Surely there are more numerous minorities for him to pander to. Yeah, I know the biblethumpers want the Third Temple built so that baby Jesus can come home, but that particular brand of wingnut is already in the Romney camp. Plus, the jokes's on them: every Jew on earth is ritually impure because of the lapse of one of the Levitical laws (I forget which one), so we can't restore the Temple for you in any case. Ha ha!

Will Romney really recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel? He must love high gas prices then because the reaction from the Arab oil-producing states is going to be extremely unpleasant. Maybe he really is an end-timer bring-it-on crazy person conservative but I don't believe it becaue that's not the Mormon MO. More likely he's just a lying sack of shiat who says whatever he thinks people want to hear to whomever he's standing in front of at the time.

I was looking up the Pope being Baptized and found this page http://www.businessinsider.com/here-are-10-people-posthumously-baptize d-by-mormons-2012-3?op=1

And in my best George Takei voice oh my According to Radkey, records obtained in 1998 show that Adolf Hitler was "baptized" and "endowed" on December 10, 1993, and "sealed" to his parents on March 12, 1994. Both place in the London Temple, England.

and Elvis has been baptized at least seven times, guess it didn't take the first six times.

Its not accurate to describe the current Republican party as neocons. The hallmark of the Neo-conservative movement (with Dick Cheney as its de facto leader) was vast government spending.

The current Republican party is led by Christian Dominionists. This is actually scarier, because they will let nothing stop them from Israel's destruction, which their religion tells them will lead to their God's return to Earth.

Supporting the policies of the State of Israel means that you give up the moral high road in favor of the popular high road. There is a difference. By supporting the popular high road, you get to condemn people for doing something and then praise others for doing the exact same thing in retaliation without being called a hypocrite. All of the cool kids are doing it nowadays.
