2012 Astros: Give us a few more weeks.

...and the Reds have won 9 straight. Suddenly they are 27 games back in July. Ouch.

As a Rockies fan I very much appreciate what the Astros are doing this year :)

As a native Houstonian, I find this very hard to believe. I'd have thought the club-record losing streak would be closer to twenty.

well, unless the Pirates can rally, looks like it's gonna stop there

Pffft. 12 losses in a row is a bad couple of weeks. The Cubs haven't won the World Series in 104 years.

The Pirates can rally. The Astros seem to be snatching defeat from the jaws of victory all over the place lately.

2-25 over the last 27 is amazingly bad.

When the Philles lost 23 in a row a crowd of fans came to the airport to welcome the team back and cheer encouragement. The players actually thought it was a lynch mob. One play said "Leave the plane in 50 yard bursts so they can't get us all at once!"

Yeah that whole AL thing is going to work out just great.

Sure it will!

I was at that game last night. The real annoyance was that it was something called "Faith and Family Night" that had a post game concert featuring MercyMe. As a result, the stands were full of people from several of the local church groups who didn't really care about the game or baseball in general but were only there to see MercyMe.

Care to remind us when the Astros last won the World Series?

Hey, they've at least been. The Mariners and Expos/Nats still can't claim that.

One could argue that the Astros don't really care about the game or baseball in general.

True, but not nearly as bad as 3-54 over your last 57, including 1-40 over your last 41. Link

What's sad is that the Cubs made it very clear that they weren't even trying this year, and they're threatening to take over 4th place.

The Phils may have lost 23 in a row but the '88 Orioles lost the first 21 games of the season.

Its sad when you're mathematically out of the playoffs in April

I made a bet with a guy at work that they wouldn't win more than 50 games this season. It looked totally implausible in May when they managed to win a few series but now they only have to go 15-44 the rest of the way for me to win. Should be a cake walk from here on out now that they've traded away practically the entire team.

/It blows being an Astros fan...
