Yaaay Hungoring, a Tilke free track.

MSC- DNS (He'll get a mulligan from the pit lane)

Extra formation lap due to Schumi's car stalling on the grid

Here we go!

Poor Schumi

The Mobile Chicane is sucking Pastor into his clutches.

Schumi just changed from softs to mediums on Lap 1 after starting in the pit lane; he'll likely get a drive through for speeding in the pit lane

2012-07-29 08:12:54 AM
And he does

The Brit commentators just used the phrase "fat with fuel." That would make a great Fark handle.

This is what a real road racing track should look like

I shudder to think how obscene the German spoken through the Mercedes team radio right now.

Just woke up. I missed the start. Sounds like schumi's season of fail continues.

soopey: Just woke up. I missed the start. Sounds like schumi's season of fail continues.

At least he's still driving, and he's about to pass Glock. When his car stalled, I honestly was expecting Ross to find something had cooked that would make them have to retire the car before the race got started.

Hamilton up 2.7 seconds 13 laps in... how long before Red Bull whines to race control that McLaren did something to the car?

Hey! Maldonado got by a Caterham and no one got wrecked! Give the kid a cookie!

I must be getting soft as I get older; I found myself rooting for Alonso to reel in Vettel. Or maybe it's just because I have no patience for whiny, crybaby bastards who continually pitch their toys out the pram whenever something doesn't go their way... you know, like Vettel.

That was an amazing pit for Hamilton. Where'd they find a proper McLaren crew?

Heh - I am old and like and root for Vettel - then again, I root for Smoke and Kyle Busch so I must like the crybaby drivers it seems.

That sounds almost as much like Alonso.

When you make Hamilton look statesman like you know you are dipping into the dick zone.

ClavellBCMI: Hamilton up 2.7 seconds 13 laps in... how long before Red Bull whines to race control that McLaren did something to the car?

Well, if your not being called a cheat by other teams your not trying hard enough. Have you noticed how each time Red Bull has to change the car due to "clarifications" of the rules they drop further off the pace (its only McClaren that cheat, Red Bull, Ferrari, Lotus and Mercedes just push the envelope of the rules. Just like Schumi is never at fault and Ferrari always get the benefit of the doubt).

2012-07-29 09:14:06 AM
Kimi just barely passed Grosjean on his way out of the pit. VERY close to there being contact.

2012-07-29 09:16:09 AM
Wow Kimmi pushes his team mate off the track. That could fo ended badly with a lot of points being lost.

And now the tragic replay of this near Lotus-on-Lotus crime.

Already under investigation. Maybe today the stewards finally shred his super license.

I'm working at Laguna Seca right now and the only thing I get on this tv is motoGP stuff.

Have all the races recording at home.

Passing is good, playing chicken with the car on the racing line to get by is not ok.

Pastor gets a drive through for almost punting a car off the track.

2012-07-29 09:31:44 AM
Go kimi!

2012-07-29 09:33:11 AM
So like I said, he got warned for passing.

If you can't keep your car on the track because someone is going in harder than you, you picked the wrong line.

Schumi is out

He used his left front tire to push Di Resta off the track. If you see a racing incident and try and defend Maldonado, you obviously haven't been paying attention this year.

This isn't NASCAR. You're not supposed to contact the other cars when you pass them. These aren't 3500lb steel bricks, these are 800lb carbon fiber arrows with inverted wings and no fenders over the tyres.

DoBeDoBeDo: So like I said, he got warned for passing.

If you can't keep your car on the track because someone is going in harder than you to crash and take both of you out of the race, you picked the wrong line you don't have a death wish.

Fixed it for you.

This isn't stock car racing. The cars don't have bodywork or bumpers to absorb any impact. If DiResta didn't pull of the track the car could of flipped and done some real damage to his head.

In every form of racing when you have the inside line through a turn it is your job not to start going wide and hit the car taking the wide line.

Lewis, Kimi, and Roman on the podium, and Fernando back in fifth. Hamilton is back up to fourth in the points.

I'd like to see a new sporting regulation, no weaving around after a race to pick up rubber bits on the tires to put a few extra ounces of weight on the car.

Meh, it's its own risk. If you're picking up debris on the track, you're taking an awful risk that you scoop up something that isn't rubber.

True, though picking up rubber to make sure you pass the weight inspection could be argued to not be exactly sporting.

You just have to love Roman, he looks like he just can't believe he is a F1 driver for a good team. Every time he is on the podium he is grinning like a loon.

Alonso extends his lead in the championship. This title won't be decided on the wins, it will be decided on who gets more of those 5-7th places

Well, we've got a few weeks before Spa, possibly for the last annual running of the Belgian GP.
