Be honest, because I've never watched it. If Al Bundy and "hot Hispanic woman of the moment" weren't on it, would anyone watch this?

Yes

Al Bundy is what kept me away for half a season

You have an amazingly poor understanding of why this show is popular.

You have an amazingly poor understand of the words "I've never watched it." Mostly because I don't like 99% or so of network TV, but that's just me.

Even though I'm immune to her obvious physical charms, I find "the hot Hispanic woman of the moment" quite funny, as I do the rest of the cast.

Richie Cunningham's brother advises against this.

Sleepaway camps and boarding schools are cheap, and adoptable orphans and distant cousins are abundant.

The whole cast is good, but it's Ty Burell that makes the show awesome instead of just really good.

I'd advise the youg'uns to step carefully, though - with the exception of Manny, they can be replaced.

I go back and forth between liking and hating this show. When my wife got into it a while back, I got a kick out of the episodes while they were on, but the whole thing from the top down, concept to writers to actors just oozes so much pretension from every pore that I find the whole thing very off putting if I think about it while not actually watching it.

I just remember CSI MIAMI actors trying to get more money so they said, "No." and killed off a character.

As long as the writing is good, I'd be afraid to be replaced or killed too easily.

Sounds to me by your question that you don't watch tv because you don't care, you don't watch tv because you can't make a decision on your own. You're asking the question because you're too afraid to like something, so now you can blame other people.
Don't be a pussy. Watch something. If you don't like it, turn it off, but at least you gave it a shot.

Get paid while you can, as much as you can, kiddos. If history has taught us anything, successful child TV actors don't often become successful adult actors. For every Ron Howard, there's about 30 Where Are They Nows.

I really enjoyed the show, but for some reason didn't watch it last season (oh wait, now I remember, I got rid of DVR and couldn't be bothered to remember to watch it because I'm a lazy bum). Anyway, I think the cast is really good and well balanced, particularly the adults, and the dynamic between the characters are on the whole interesting and amusing enough to overcome the typical sitcom plots they throw at you. The only thing that really grated on me was the taster's choice moment/narration they insist on having at the end of every episode. Too much 'everything's resolved and nobody's mad at each other for me.' But that's a minor critique, in the end I think it's a very well done show.

meh, outside of Sarah Hyland, they're all pretty bad. Though to be fair, it's fairly clear that the writers don't quite know what to do with the child characters.

I wonder if any of the TV cop shows will tackle the issue? Or at least how long until they make an episode. Law & Order SVU always makes episodes on all the sex stories that are in the news.

Guess it's fair.
Without the kids that show would have a tough time with material. It'd be the Cam show, and I think he is the weakest part of the ensemble.

I guess what I like about it is that it's "Realistic Enough". That have to play in the sitcom genre, but, there's a good nugget of believability to latch onto.

---I think they did do a Duke Lacrosse episode. Then again, I could be confusing it with a different every other rape case on the show. All I know is that their Michael Jackson episode with the Toy magnate is a great episode.

Perfect time to kill off Manny (or kidnapped by his father and returned to old country?) and send the older girl off to a distant college. Little Asian girl should also tread lightly. She knows why.

/Hate Manny. Kid can make entire episodes unwatchable.

she can be funny, but mostly she comes off as a smarmy version of Lisa Simpsons circa Simpsons seasons 1-3.

Luke has gotten better if only because they've kind of progressed him somewhat beyond idiot-child status, but he'shiat or miss.

Manny just kind of annoys me. he can be funny, but the character is just too contrived.

Haley is the only one who is on par with the adult cast in terms of acting and general humor. I think the other kids suffer from inconsistent writing combined with not all that great acting.

And that's why Law and Order classic should never have been canceled for a bunch of one season and done failures.

There's a need for the prodecural that does the regular ripped from the headline crime stories, since SVU has to make sure that someone was raped with a stick blender in every episode.

Maybe not, I would have never started watching a sitcom type show on my own, especially on a Disney-ABC channel. Some friends of mine discovered it, told me about it, and because I was offered to watch it on their DVR and was told Al Bundy was in the show, I gave it a shot.

10 minutes in, I knew I was hooked.

I could do without the hot Hispanic chick, I'd miss her humor not her looks. Not saying she isn't incredibly hot, just sayin.
