Sno Ball?

Did they hand out 37?

In a row?

Snoballs are not snow cones. They are a different thing entirely. For one, snoballs have ice cream, and for another, they have condensed milk.

Honest question: Is there a single person in the world who hates Drew Brees? I mean, honestly. Even if you're a Falcons, Panthers or Bucs fan, how do you not at least begrudgingly like the guy? Some of my favorite all-time players spent the bulk of their careers on teams I hate.

Actually the subby is probably just an idiot who has no idea they are called snow cones down here as well.

Lived in the south my entire life, never heard them referred to as sno balls, maybe subbys mom just called them that because its what his dad liked.

I would hope so, given the amount he was asking for.

10 years ago as a backup, if you told him he'd be making 13-15 mil a year, he'd say SIGN ME UP...now it's a holdout over 1 mil just to inflate the franchise average and guarantee a highest paid in the NFL. It's all relative.

I guess I'm just still stoked my brother is butthurt because I took down our big money FF league last year with his Breesus team vs. my Stafford/Rice combo.

They aren't the same. And if they were, New Orleans has different names and pronunciations for common things. She's Southern in geography only. In some neighborhoods people from [insert nearby American city] can't even follow the conversation, which I find hilarious for some reason. Probably because I was bewildered when I first got here in the mid-90s, and definitely paid my dues before blending in.

Man, you fail on some pretty big levels here. For starters, no one actually hates Chad Johnson. Most people who follow the game think he's a fun-loving doofis at best; a guy who should clamp up and focus on his game at worst.

He's not TO. Never has been. Hell, I like the guy. He's a big, dumb dog occasionally smart enough to come in from the rain.

Secondly, when is the last time you saw Brees troll, 85-style? When did you ever see Brees be anything but a field general and respectful player? The biggest on-field displays of emotions were when he was visibly pissed at Shockey for not getting his ass with the program, or when he and Payton butted heads on play-calling. For the most part, the dude is frighteningly collected and surgically precise.

But you're here trolling that we have a double standard for not condemning Brees'...bulk purchase of snowballs.

Well, I've been put in my place! Remind me to watch out for your razor wit and superior skilz in the sports tab this season.

He held out for that extra million per year while already being offered over 19 mill plus defended his scumbag teammates (less because he cared about them, more because it benefits him). So I guess this is his way to suck the fans dicks . But you think he could've sprung for some real ice cream? Mr Softie motherfarker

You obviously have never been in a Fark football thread or somehow managed to miss the all of the negative comments about him when there is a thread about him or he is mentioned in a thread. Just speaking his name brings out some of the most mouth foaming angry responses in Fark threads.

Did I say most people, no I did not. What I said is that there are a lot of of negative comments when there is a thread about him or when he is mentioned in a thread. And those comments are some of the most hateful comments that you will see in a sports thread. So when the original poster said that nobody actually dislikes him, he is wrong

Fair enough. I like the guy. I never thought his antics hurt his team. And this past year when he got slaughtered for some twitter by his own teammates was crap. I forget what it was about but he was right.

Ahh. I remember that comment he made on ESPN. The thing you got to remember about ESPN analyst is that they are all paid to be a certain character. By that I mean that they are told by the network what position they will take on a subject and it is up to them to do what ever they can to defend that position. It is all done to create controversy and drive ratings. That is why you see some of the analyst saying some of the most stupid things and taking the most idiotic positions on certain subjects. A lot of the times they are forced to defend positions that they don't agree with, and some of them are better at this type of theater than others.

When I said "no one" hates Johnson, I meant anyone worth listening to. Most reasonable folks have always considered him a puppy who'll eventually tire out, and not a dyed-wool sociopath like TO, et al.

You're not the only Stafford > Brees team I know who won last year. Good thing those numbers don't count in real life. But damn, I was really impressed. Watched the playoff game in a bar with tons of Lions fans who were holdovers from BCS. We had a blast, and gave much mutual respect.

I think it's the sort of fan camaraderie that only teams who recently emerged from Total Suck ( or worse, teaser-suck like the Haslett-era Saints) can appreciate. Not one douchey Lions fan in the house. We all exchanged stories of abject heartache, and kind of bonded over it.

You'd think the same might be said after SF finally managed to not suck for one year, but their fans are strutting around like it's the 90s all over again, and the last decade simply didn't happen. For a while I genuinely felt for my old NFC West rivals, but after that game I think I hate the 'whiners more for their fans than the actual outcome of the game. Almost as bad as Cowboy fans sh*tting on the world because they won a game.

Big deal, he makes hundreds of million dollars and spend a few thousand on a publicity stunt. What did it take him, something like two minutes of game time pay?

Big deal.

He should have been suspended for a year and the coaches a lifetime ban.

I guess cheating does pay.

Keep sucking on that.

Apparently, the only reason Goodell completely ignored the 49ers' comments about trying to knock Eli Manning out of the game is because there was no money involved, just pats on the tush.

Snow cones *should* be ok. Go for it!

I've met fellow Charger fans who said they did, but they were mostly just mad we had a QB that good who didn't play to that level consistently when he was still on the Chargers.

He stayed classy when San Diego drafted Rivers, and never has done anything to make me have anything but respect for him. Unless he starts killing puppies or signs with the Raiders I don't think I could dislike him.

I'm not an expert on Brees-era Chargers, but there are any number of reasons that could explain his performance there vs. his career with the Saints. Even shameless fanboys like me know that Brees is worthless without our consistently top-10 OL and seemingly bottomless supply of formerly no-name support staff downfield. Apparently, if you're a late-rounder or some guy lying in a gutter, you sign with the Saints and become a household name.

As for Rivers, hell, I like the guy. As an athlete. Kinda seems like a douche, though. But that's neither here nor there.

Football is a team sport. Modern NFL football is all about the organization. Why do you think the modern coaching staffs are so well paid, and expertise floats around the league? You can't just win by putting the best talent on the field. The rules and increasing national scope of the game push for raw talent parity. You win consistently by superior organization and execution.

In Texas, we say 'Howdy'

In New Orleans, we say 'Wheyat?'

In San Diego, we say 'Hey, thanks for Drew Brees'
