FTR, China owns the largest percentage of our foreign owned debt, which, itself, is less than 15% of the total US debt. The vast majority of US debt is owed to ourselves.

That's what we've been so alarmed by in recent years, and it makes the tired old "liberal media" canard so much more annoying to hear.

Even CNN (hardly competent, but hardly partisan either) chooses to air hours' worth of birther 'debates' as though the other side of the story has any validity at all. The "liberal media" legitimizes these wingnuts. Hell, you don't even have to be qualified anymore - a random school bus driver in Iowa is now a "special correspondent." What the fark does that even mean, these days? Can I be a special correspondent, too?
