CNN: your #1 source for mediocre Twitter speculation.

2012-07-28 04:50:06 PM
Saw a report yesterday that the short list actually is:
McDonnell
Rubio
Jindal.

All three of those have something in common that'll irk the Evangelicals, though Pat Robertson would be okay with the guy who lives in Virginia Beach.

2012-07-28 04:54:37 PM
Oh please pick Santorum please please please

2012-07-28 05:06:11 PM
It'll be Portman. You heard it here first.

gilgigamesh: It'll be Portman. You heard it here first.

Natalie Portman is a republican? is she even old enough to run for vp?

2012-07-28 05:20:40 PM
It'll be RAND PAUL. You've heard it first from me for the last several months anytime the VP speculation comes up.

2012-07-28 05:21:06 PM
Please take Nikki Haley. We are sick of her here in SC.

A jewish liberal woman would certainly shake things up, no doubt. Obama would not see that coming.

But no, I meant Rob Portman from Ohio. He could deliver an important swing state, and he's so milquetoast he makes Romney look like Indiana Jones.

It's the political equivalent of a chubby girl going to a club with her even chubbier friend to make herself look slim.

Like I said, you heard it here first.

I would take Nikki Haley. In every position imaginable.

Maybe if he picks Jindal -Romney can be exorcised

You may be right. Portman is the only viable candidate that won't completely fark up or overshadow Romney, IMHO.

What's your address? I'll help out loveblondieo and chip in on the shipping costs.

For god's sake the woman cut funding to rape crisis centers because they only help a small fraction of the population. But tax breaks for millionaires in a mostly rural state are A-OK.

I think Rubio would be a smart choice. It might give him Florida, and sure wouldn't hurt the Hispanic vote. So I expect he'll pick Santorum.

2012-07-28 05:36:06 PM
Does CNN still actually employ journalists that work in the field, or is it just a bunch of interns that scan twitter all day long.

LET'S HEAR FROM AN iREPORTER ON THE SCENE!!!

/fark you CNN

2012-07-28 05:37:00 PM
ok they post this really really generic list to get folks to stop talking about Mitt the Twit. doubt it will make any difference on the sunday talk shows and will be gone by monday.

2012-07-28 05:37:28 PM
Moretz\Portman 2012!

2012-07-28 05:37:53 PM
Thune? Really? Much like his Fark namesake, that guy isn't firing on all cylinders. He's a few bricks shy of a load. He's a couple privates shy of a battalion.

Lemme guess...

McDonnell - Catholic
Rubio - Catholic
Jindal - CatholicHindu

How'm I doin'?

2012-07-28 05:38:51 PM
Romney's campaign confirmed that the Twitter posts were authentic.

Imagine that conversation:

Ha ha ha! No, really?

Yes.

But really? are you sure?

Yes.

It this a joke? Are you just messing with us?

No.

Really???

*Hangs up phone*

P.T. Barnum said it best.

If any of those are his REAL choices...Mittens is doomed.

Applies to both the list and a 'news' organization that reports tweets

The thing I like about CNN twitnews is that Twitter is a mass communication system in its own right. You don't actually need to report on it, it is reported. No more reporting is needed. Reportment is complete with the tweeting of the twit. If it were anything comparable they'd be laughed out of town ("CNN: The World Leader In Telling You What MSNBC And Fox Aired Yesterday").

2012-07-28 05:44:36 PM
I know there's a punchline there somewhere.

/or this is just the setup to the real joke

2012-07-28 05:46:34 PM
That's got to be some kind of decoy list.

2012-07-28 05:46:35 PM
This looks more like a distraction from the London Olympics fiasco than an actual list of VP choices.

Confabulat: I think Rubio would be a smart choice. It might give him Florida, and sure wouldn't hurt the Hispanic vote. So I expect he'll pick Santorum.

And that's why it would hurt him with the Hispanic vote. Most Hispanics don't like or give a rats ass about Cubans.

You're putting me on, right??

In simpler words, Governor Romney, how can I read a mind
like yours when it's written in nothing but bullsh*t?

It's a feeler list and you're the study group.

Dear Romney,

We liberals are scared of Santorum. Put him on your ticket and let him speak however he wants.

Maybe not. You want to kill Stephen Colbert? He can't even keep a straight face anymore, imagine if ol' Frothy gets the nod.

This. He's a strong conservative who's not afraid of upholding Biblical principles. Just the kind of stalwart shield this country needs to lead us to the new millenium.

Yeah, this is the whole "We're considering Rice as VP" bullshiat they tried when Romney was getting pummled by the Bane story. Bonus points for the timing and desperate hope it gets the Sunday talk shows focused on this versus the dumb fark doing his best to set back US/English relations to 1812.

More of: They hate being mistaken for each other and white people assuming all hispanics are the same, something that Republicans do commonly.

Don't call Mexicans Cubans, Cubans Mexican, Columbians Dominicans, etc etc.
