Music wise: the 60s ruled, the 70s rocked, the 80s sucked and the 90s... well, lets just say they saw how much the 80s sucked and tried to make up for it.

90's hands down. White Wolf. Larping. Magic Cards. Internet. High speed internet. For a brief period of time people played instruments.

90s.

Better music, better technology, better cable.

2012-07-28 12:39:05 PM
I was too young to actually remember the 80's, so 90's by default.

When I started my advertising career in 1981 in NYC with all the ciggs and alcohol accounts we had to work on, it was non stop rolling. Party... party... party

It's like the every-other-decade theory, you know? The '50s were boring, the '60s rocked, and the '70s-- Oh, my god, they obviously suck. Come on. Maybe the '80s will be radical. You know? I figure we'll be in our 20s and, hey, it can't get any worse.

I need to have a beer with you sometime. I was fascinated by the stuff that came out of Madison Ave. in the 80's. My dad worked in the city for AT&T and visiting was cool and terrifying at the same time. NYC was an entirely different city altogether. Altogether.

Trips in the past 10 years have made me feel like I'm visiting some safe city on the planet Mars that just should not exist. It's still beautiful and full of awesomeness, but just not enough bum urine and hulks of cars on cinder blocks. I guess to relive that I'll have to visit Trenton.

I think Bright Lights, Big City captured the city pretty well enough. I didn't live there, nor was I in my 20's at the time, but they seemed to have gotten the gist of it with that movie. You will either thrive, survive, or the city will chew you up and spit you out.

I'm sure, no matter the decade, that will always hold true.

The 80's had Reagan for most of them.
The 90's had Clinton for most of them.
Advantage:90's.

My 80s and 90s were like a current weather report; High in the 80s and 90s. So, both.

90s. Because Nirvana and X Files and I got laid.

2012-07-28 01:15:37 PM
I'd have to go both- ~ '86-'94. I did my best smokin', drinkin', and farkin during that window. Post high school, college, pre-marriage and kids.

The 80s were shiat. The only people who think they were anything other than an embarrassment to humanity were too young to know better.

90s for me: slacking off, slacking off, slacking off

Gotta go with the 90s.

I didn't experience the same 80s that you guys did.

Since the 90's featured blow jobs in the Oval Office I have to give that decade the nod.

TheCharmerUnderMe: 1975-1984.

I was gonna say '77 to '84, but your answer works well, too.

I did have some good times in the '90s, though. We grew up in a rural area and I really miss hanging out in my friend's barn. He and I used to sit out there and get zonked out of our gourds along with his sister's pet goat, Ichabod. He used to love eating the stems.

I posted a CSB(11th post down) about a good summer we had in the '90s.

Both were pretty damn good for me.

/80's were college, no money but a hell of a lot of fun
//the 90's i had money, youth and fun (except for that whole responsibility thing)
///plus, the 90's got rid of hair bands

Oh, and in the mid 80s, in Dallas, you could buy legal X at the bar.

Good point.

I was going to say 80's, just because I was in middle and high school, and have some cool memories. I was also too young/dumb to know what a dumbf*ck Reagan was.

80's--i was drunk
90's--I was married.

They both sucked.

2012-07-28 02:31:48 PM
As someone who graduated highschool in '83 and was definitely "there" for both decades, I have to say the 90's were better. Way better music, way less Reagan and Bush, way more free sex. The 90's ruled over the 80's eight ways from farking Sunday.

About the same, right? They both leave you hungover and broke.

Other than clothes the 80s.

And as to music, so much the 80s.

2012-07-28 02:32:06 PM
The 90s had better cartoons. Way better. That one's a slam dunk.

I'd probably go with the 90s in general but the two decades were better than those that preceded and followed them.

Considering I was in college in the 1980s (the easiest 4 years of my life), I'm going to go with that decade.

Although I did own my own business in the 1990s - but also I was married to my first wife then.

80s had satanic cults, mountains of blow, awesome comedies, and MTV. 90s had what exactly?

2012-07-28 02:37:35 PM
Th 80's were cool because of Emporer Titus and the new Colosseum, but the 90s sucked under the "Reign of Terror" of Domitian.

Good question. I was a teen in the '80s. Young adult in the '90s. I guess I would say '80s.

/loved the music of both decades though.
