(Some Bat)   Mainstream media and politicians aren't aware that there's a game where you can dress up like the Joker and shoot people with an AR-15. So keep your yaps shut about Gotham City Impostors   (doee.us) divider line 27

Is the game any fun? All I know about it is that it had like $30 or something or Day One DLC.

Reception

The Escapist writer Allistair Pinsof called the demo a "carbon copy" of Call of Duty first-person shooter games, but said it added enough new features to be enjoyable. G4 writer Leah Jackson said of the playable demo: "Quite frankly, the game doesn't feel like your run of the mill downloadable title. It controls great, looks fantastic, and with all of the options, I can say that I was quite impressed."

I haven't had the money to check it out, but my BIL called it Team Fortress: Batman edition. From what I hear, it's pretty fun.

FTFA: "the mainstream media and many politicians are desperately seeking a way to connect the killings to video games"

My goodness, if that is true, then the US really is filled with the most moronic, dumbass, stupidest people on earth.
Video games?!? What on earth do they have to do with mentally ill individuals??

If anything, blame movies, as Holmes was most obviously channeling The Dark Knight. Movies make things "real", video games are a past time. Give me a break.

Playstation Plus had it as a free download last month, its pretty fun, not as many game modes as Call of Duty, but its kind of a funnier version of COD. You can customize your dude, make costumes and use things like jet packs or hang gliders to travel through the game. I personally use a Jack in the Box to act as a proximity mine, its funny.. to me.

I tried playing the game on PC a few months ago, and there was nobody playing, it really let me down. :C

Otherwise, this article is ridiculous.

I think parts of the article were intended to be a little tongue-in-cheek. That means facetious, if you guys don't use that colloquialism.

It's an okay game. It's Call of Duty with a splash of Smash Brothers, painted Batman. Turns out to be a pretty enjoyable thing. I use the gliders and bear traps a lot.

If video games cause violence, why is violence declining in most developed countries despite more and more people playing video games? I mean if there was such a clear link, there should be 1000% more violence now than in say the 70s before video games were widespread.

It's a class based batman themed shooter, with enough unique quirks to keep it interesting. You don't need to buy the DLC if all you want to do is kill stuff.

And the boomerang is awesome.

As is the glider.

And the least he could do would be to cut a smile into his face. He didn't even try.

This video game horseshiat has always been ridiculous. Oh and Kiss isn't Satanic either.

I play GCI with my Gf.

using the agile body with rollerskates plus the speed perks and a katana rapes faces. the fart can to stun everyone as you gleefully slice and dice adds to the mayhem =]

JFK was (allegedly) shot by Lee Harvey Oswald, who was shot the next day by Jack Ruby. MLK was shot by James Earl Ray, Malcolm X was shot by Thomas Hagan and several others, and RFK was shot by Sirhan Sirhan. According to a report in MAD Magazine, neither Oswald, Ruby, Ray, Hagan nor Sirhan played violent video games.

/Sirhan may be single-handedly responsible for the decline and downfall of America as his actions prevented RFK from securing the Democratic Party's nomination and possibly the Presidency, which in turn would very likely have relegated the Republican Party into the dustbin of history -- but that's another discussion for another thread, preferably in the Politics Tab
//anyway, MAD Magazine actually did point out in one of their issues several years ago that the political assassinations in the 1960s were not caused by violent video games, but I just don't remember whether it was released in the 1990s or the 2000s, never mind exactly what issue or even what year.

Gotham City Imposters? If they're going to freak out about that I definitely don't want them to find out about the game where you wear a clown mask and take people hostage.

Its alright, novel enough use of the L4D2 engine.
:edit: my bad, its apparently the "Diesel" engine, but it plays like L4D with cops

So far they have latched onto the blockbuster hits Batman Arkham Asylum and Arkham City. Those games have "Batman" in the title

Yes, clearly "Arkham City" has "Batman" in the title. Solid premise.

No one's playing this anyways. I tried it out a while back and there was almost no one on the servers and finding games took forever. I can only imagine it's gotten more barren since then.
