There are a few things that I hear/see and I laugh every time. Off the top of my head, this one, Bob Uecker in any of the Major League movies, and one of the local sports stations replays Ned Yost saying "Soup pitched great."

//The last one is a "you had to be there" moment, when, after a game in which Jeff Suppan gave up six runs in 4 innings, Yost was asked what he thought of Suppan's performance he replied, "Soup pitched great." It's the anti-Tommy Lasorda/Kingman rant (another one I laugh at every time). The local station will pretend to interview Ned and ask him stupid questions like "What do you think about record unemployment in the US?" then "Soup pitched great." It is a stupid bit, but I laugh each time they do it.

Why is it important to mention that the reporter is female?

Is this where we go to read WAY too much into a 6 second video clip and make something out of absolutely nothing?
Oh, no, that would be every news outlet everywhere.

I know I've never called someone I should be intimately familiar with the wrong name when pressure was on (or not).

Because she was no doubt fantasizing about starring in "Airtight #28" starring Tim Tebow, Mark Sanchez, and Karl Hungus.

IMO, most arrogrant, name-dropping, I-am-always-correct sports personality is "J.T. The Brick," which surely is on his birth certificate. He rivals Rome in the douche category, which is no surprise since "J.T. The Brick" got his start on Rome's show. I tried listening to "J.T. The Brick" for awhile, that got old fast.

I'd think week 8. The Jets are in New England week 7, if Sanchez stinks it up......

Wadded Beef : So, what's the over/under when Tebow starts over Sanchez? Week 9?

New York Jets 2012 Schedule

1 Sun September 9 Buffalo Bills
2 Sun September 16 @ Pittsburgh Steelers
3 Sun September 23 @ Miami Dolphins
4 Sun September 30 San Francisco 49ers
5 Mon October 8 Houston Texans
6 Sun October 14 Indianapolis Colts
7 Sun October 21 @ New England Patriots
8 Sun October 28 Miami Dolphins

The Jets run a defensive gauntlet from week two until week 5, facing four of the toughest D's in the league last year in a row.
It's New York and the position is under a microscope, so panic will set in early. My prediction is that Tebow starts against the Colts in week six.

Unless you've got a schedule like Green Bay had, Miami isn't a top tier defense. They were above average, but they were still way off of those other three. That said, their rush defense is great, so Tebow still wouldn't work against them. Pittsburgh would love another chance to rip him apart and the 49ers and Houston are top tier rush defenses, so you're probably right on that one.

That said, that puts him playing NE and Miami the next two weeks if he does well and I don't see those working out well for him. It may be best for them to hold off until the bye week and the Seattle and SL games back to back to use him.

I dont know if the jets can handle the media circus... I'm a bengals fan and not having the divas on the team last year made the season feel smoother.

also Miami sucks the donkey..

With the exception of Indy and possibly New England, that's a pretty brutal schedule for Sanchez. (And I doubt New England will be anywhere near as bad this year on D as last.) Even Week 1 isn't going to be an easy go by any stretch. Buffalo still has a questionable secondary, IMO, but that front 7 should be much improved. Miami should also be better, at least up front, since they're having to go up against a very fast-paced offense in practice now (and so shouldn't have the issue of being out of shape come the season like last year).

The Steelers should be solid. 9ers should be too. No idea about Houston.

I still don't see Tebow taking over unless Sanchez really shiats the bed there, but it's not unthinkable by Week 7 or so.
