Hey Republicans, you still gonna try this "FARTBONGO INSULTS OUR FRIENDS" line after Rmoney has been a gaffe machine of epic proportions in his trip to the UK?

He's ruined our reputation BY apologizing. Real US of A Americans don't apologize for anything ever.

If we did, what would that make us? Canadians, that's what.

Yes.

Also, Romney is leadership incarnate; he brings his successes as a CEO and business acumen to the world stage and isn't afraid to flex his Amercian muscle. Those Brits may be allies, but they've got to know we're in charge.

Both simultaneous.

Why embrace enemies when you can covertly sell them arms in defiance of an international embargo, right Ollie?

Back to history's dustbin you go.

Sure, all they have to do is completely ignore what a turd Romney was yesterday, and based on the handful of right-wing sites I've checked in the last 24 hours, ignoring it is exactly what they're doing.

Honestly, the Townhall banner is a pretty good sign that anything that follows was written by a lying POS. That it's that traitorous bastard North is just extra icing to them.

If that headline in any way represents the article's content I'm not clicking.
That sucks.

2012-07-27 09:42:32 AM
Oliver North? Like, a different one, or the "99% of America thinks you should be in jail as a war criminal and/or dead for treason depending on their opinion of the death penalty" Oliver North form back in the day?

Because if it's seriously the latter, how does even Townhall think that he has the ethos to be considered a legit op-ed columnist by anyone? I mean, Karl Rove at least I get, Rove was just kind of a bastard, but a competent one with some real insight into politics. Thinking North's opinion valuable is like a whole new level of discrediting yourself.

2012-07-27 09:42:37 AM
Ollie North sold arms to Iran illegally. Iran has state-sponsored terrorist cells. Ollie North therefore sponsors terrorism.

Why do Ollie North and subby love terrorists? This calls for a state-sponsored vacation to a tropical facility to find out. PE program included.

I've noticed that while most liberals like myself are disappointed in a lot of things Obama has done or failed to ffollow through on, by and large we see him as a net gain for the country. Ending DADT, coming out in support of gay marriage, spearheading financial sector reforms (however defanged by the right) and health care reform (also defanged, see above). Oh, and that whole killing Osama/terrorist groups/Somali pirates thing.

So, being realistic that we are not likely to see a true liberal run and win, we support Obama as being a good if not flawed leader and a net win for the nation.

The right, however, needs to create this mythical worship figure us liberals seem tto slaver over. This "The One" or "the Great" stuff.

If only there was a phrase to illustrate this logical fallacy.

C'mon guys. If you can't trust the judgement of Ollie North, who can you trust?

2012-07-27 09:44:19 AM
Why is it that so many heroes of the right wing are convicted felons, people who should have been tried, or people who were convicted and got off on a technicality?

I thought conservatives were supposed to support law and order?

2012-07-27 09:44:21 AM
The Iranians were buying arms from the Israelis all through the 1980s. Despite their harsh rhetoric, they were actually more like rivals to Iran than bitter enemies. Hence Republicans had no problem working with them even covertly. It wasn't until the 1990s that Israel started drumming the "existential threat" drums of war, reshaping the entire dialogue about Iran.

2012-07-27 09:44:23 AM
Wat? Carter gave the Shah sanctuary for medical treatment which is why Khomeini hated him with the heat of a thousand suns and dragged out the hostage crisis so he'd lose re-election. Then the next guy comes in and covertly sells him arms.

Checks author.

Well that explains everything.

When the hearings started it seemed
like an intrusion
My wife couldn't stand missing "One Life to Live"
The kids came home from school and asked
"Dad, what's collusion?"
It was sad cause I had no answer to give

We started watching the hearings together
I'd stay home from work in the afternoons
It started the family talking together
Afterwards we'd relax by watching cartoons

We talked about issues
Patriotism and morals
It helped us rise above our own petty
squabbles and quarrels
You did your dirty job and you did it all the way
Now my family's back together
and I've got one thing to say
(Thanks, Ollie)

Golly, Ollie
Look what you've done for my family
Golly, Ollie
A brand new form of democracy

My wife thinks he's cool under pressure,
sexy, smooth and intelligent
Tommy calls him Booger Brain
Sister says "James Bond move over"
I think there's just too many things he can't explain
But at least the kids are asking good questions
Like "What's the difference between right and wrong?"
I tell them that I still don't know
But isn't it great that we are getting along
Thanks Ollie

Golly, Ollie
Look what you've done for my family
You may not be telling the truth
I guess we'll never know,
You've shredded the proof

That this man will never see the inside of a jail cell is one of the starkest failures of the American justice system in all its history.
