So this would have been avoided if a heroic man stood up and pulled his concealed gun out? Why do I think that's unlikely?

Oh, right.

The shooter was armored head to toe. Anybody throwing down on him would have been shot dead. We are in an arms race with crazy f*ckers now.

Anyone who knows voodoo could have quickly crafted a doll of the shooter using some of his hair or semen to bind it to him.

Dear Rep. Louie Gohmert:

Why is it that God wants to fark with his followers so much? I mean, if he was really pissed at us atheist he would send his avenging angels to an atheist convention, hell even a library is more likely to have a higher percentage of atheists than a midnight showing of a blockbuster. (Per Capita) Instead, when the Big Guy gets pissed about the blasphemers and heathens, he shoots up a bunch of his followers. What a dick. Just wanted to know if you had any insight on this.

Sincerely;

the best headline was using that "meme" with a sick tag attached complaining about some comic strip making light of the situation.

This article makes me want to shoot a shiatload of people. But not innocent moviegoers and 6 year olds. Just the people who made those statements.

"...And since we ordered God out of our schools and communities, the military and public conversations, you know, we really shouldn't act so surprised when all hell breaks loose."

I saw something like that on Facebook after a school shooting in a Cleveland suburb a few months back, and I really wanted to say, "Really? You think if the shooter were forced to pray, he wouldn't have committed the deed?" And that was a lot less extreme than Huckabee's statement.

2012-07-26 02:44:04 PM
Is that why people are calling the shooter that name? Because Drew decided it would be cool, and his screw-headed cult-like lackeys followed in lock-step?

Well, then... that's not scary or disturbing or idiotic at all.

Those are all pretty offensive.

As is the continued level of attention this guy has been obtaining.

Honestly. We should really be affording the shooter the respect he deserves.

What a peculiar thing to get upset by in this situation.

I blame derpness in public officials on modern media.

Back in the day, to speak in front of people, you literally had to speak in front of people. If what you said made them mad enough to throw things at you, they threw things at you. If you couldn't get through a simple stump speech without 80 pages of notes and someone whispering your lines into an earpiece, you couldn't be employed as a politician, let alone be elected.

Now think about everyone who represents you in government. When is the last time you've seen any of them in person... IF EVER. Voting districts are too huge. The only way to be marketed is to be a party shill. And ...

Oh goody the nurse is by with my jello.

Texas Rep. Louie Gohmert says the attack is the result of an attack on Judeo-Christian beliefs, and that the killings might have been avoided if the country returned to the ways of God

Yeah, that fun loving God dude, who told Abraham to kill his son and told the Jews to smash the Canaanite's babies heads open on rocks.

2012-07-26 02:47:35 PM
God sure is an insecure asshole, isn't he? Making some people randomly kill strangers because a bunch of other people have sex the wrong way or don't spend an hour a week in the right building?

2012-07-26 02:48:41 PM
I like blaming the victims even though at least 2 of them died being willing human shields for their girlfriends/wives

I don't give a whit for the shooter's feelings. Terrible tragedy and so forth and so on, so of course human beings and Farkers are going to make light of it. Less than an hour after the Challenger disaster, people were making jokes about it.

However, that people are so willing to ape Drew is disturbing and reminiscent of cult-like behavior.

They also pointed out he had throat and groin protection, he knew EXACTLY what he was doing.

If I were there and I thought it might save my family, I would try and tackle him from behind, and when I discovered his head, neck, and groin were covered I'd have to make peace with the universe in about 1/2 a second...

I was tickled by the asswipe criticizing the guys who shielded their girlfriends.

He must have skipped the "There hath no greater love..." verse in the Bible.

someonelse: Where's the WSJ douche who wrote that "I hope the girls whose boyfriends died to save them were worthy of the sacrifice"? This guy.

One of the things that went through my head when I heard they had given their lives for their girlfriends was "I feel sorry for any guy who ever tries to date them in the future."

Seriously, apart from the trauma, how can anyone compare to the guy who gave his life to save you from a hail of bullets?

They wanted to keep the list to below a hundred.

Also, what was with the list continuing for two more (blank) pages?

That's one solution. Make everyone too fat to go around shooting people. They'd get winded just carrying the gun into the store/church/preschool. Hard to shoot people when you're attached to an oxygen tank or you need a crane to leave the house!

You could always hook up the aiming to one of those blow-straws attached to the scooter and the trigger pull to a button on the armrest. You're just not thinking AMERICAN enough.

If you don't wear body armor everywhere you go in public you deserve to die from gun shot. People need to have personal responsibility for their own protection. The police aren't there to save you they are there to fill out the paperwork after the fact.
