I thought Bob Ross would be the next one to be remixed. Given that I'm not in the U.S., I've only seen a few of his videos online. It seems he was a very mellow man and on more than one occasion I've fallen asleep with his calming voice in the background.

When I had reconstructive elbow surgery back in 7th grade, I woke up out of a morphine induced nap to him on tv. It was very mesmerizing to say the least.

I never knew how great a painter he was!

and all he does is simple little things with his brush yet it all looks so impressive!

wow.

Yep, that voice. Made me wish the video would be longer.

Not at all, Chrisco. If it moved T_U_E to stop and stare and wonder, then it is indeed art, and has all the soul it needs.

Thought about pulling the "troll" card on Chrisco, but...you said exactly what needed to be said.

Bravo!

Everytime I've tried to paint I've made a huge mess. Couldn't mix the paints right, put on the right amounts, etc.
I don't know if I should admire Bob Ross and painters for the magic they can do, or hate them with all my heart.

/art is fun
//epically messy art

That man had the most soothing, calming voice ever. If some genius ever came up with a "Happy Little Sleep Aid" mp3 of BR speaking it would put Ambien out of business.

CSB:

My histopathology lecturer back in grad school sounded EXACTLY like Bob Ross. Unfortunately we had lecture right after lunch with him. Imagine a dimmed lecture hall so we could see the slides and that voice saying "And over here, you can see the pretty deep blue of the neutrophil segmentation". Instant nap, whether you wanted one or not.

Like the Mr Rogers one, this just get right to the core of who Bob was. Maybe Julia Child next?

Man, I love Bob Ross. As a kid I really wished he was one of my uncles or something so I could hang out with him. Hell, as an adult I wish I could hang out with him. I never painted along but I'd just sit and watch his show and go into a trance. The world needs more Bob Ross.

Didn't need to. Bob Ross had more than enough soul to make up for it.

I don't know, the 'Street has all kinds of music out the wazoo. And you can't beat It's Not Easy Being Green or Rainbow Connection as accurate summerizing for Mr The Frog. But, possibly Big Bird? In fact, anyone way before Elmo. Not that I'm knocking the little booger, but most every other Muppet has a longer legacy than him. Even the Twiddle-Bugs. Twiddle-Bugs are cool.

/I miss Sam the Robot.
