I HATE those damn things. I sleep in the daytime and work at night, and that damn truck always knows exactly when I'm dozing off to start blaring Turkey in the Straw and then when I finally do get back to sleep that song haunts my dreams.

Ice cream trucks are evil.

God damn you cranky bastards. I hate noise, but an Ice Cream truck blaring music is what summer is all about.

The real crime here is the prices. $2.50 for an ice cream cone

Somebody who drives around all day listening to the same damn song on repeat while luring children to their van with promises of tasty treats? Seems legit.

Good. They're not allowed here either and I like that. I've worked hard to be successful in life and I live somewhere nice and I'm willing to pay enough money so that I don't have to put up with BS like kids running around after ice cream trucks and homeless people in my neighborhood. If you want to live in a neighborhood with those things that's fine; you can pay less and be around stuff like that. As it is, those of us who are willing to roll up our sleeves and make something of ourselves and are successful to live in ideal neighborhoods have the luxury of not dealing with this type of crap.

Oh, how I hate those things. The way I perceive it, their music is advertising, and I am forced to listen to said advertising against my will.

We used to live in an area where at least 3 trucks passed in a 45-minute period. We lived in a place where there were several small cul-de-sacs (culs-de-sac?). A lot of the trucks would stay on the main street, but the really irritating ones went down EVERY SINGLE cul-de-sac. You could hear it in the distance, and it would inevitably get closer and closer until there it was on our street, deafeningly loud. Some drivers were kind and shut off the music or turned it down when serving customers, but not all. Sometimes we'd be relaxing in a park and some idiot would pull up in an ice cream truck and blare music.

I'm not sure what's more annoying - that one music module that has the abbreviated version of "Turkey in the Straw," "Pop Goes the Weasel" with an extra note in it (that always bugged me to no end) and another song I can't remember, OR the newer module that says "Hello?" and has honking car horns and other sound effects mixed into its rendition of "She'll Be Comin' 'Round the Mountain." In any case, I'm glad we now live in an area where few trucks go.

No street vendors of any kind? Food carts are awesome. Scottsdale is missing out on some damn good food.

Ice cream trucks lure children outdoors where they are offensive to old people and whiny hipster jack wagons

I can see trying to weed out the cheapo "Good Humor" trucks that sell the same damn things you can buy at 7-11.

These guys had the soft-serve ice cream. The good stuff. Those uptight WASPS could use a little Mister Softee to relieve some of their tension.

If only there was something to improve their humor -- enough so that it would be much better than bad humor.
