It's because journalists don't silence the keyboard clicks on their iPhones.

But it begs the question: If it's going to be in an article 20 minutes later, why can't it be on Twitter right now?

Oh, I don't know. Get the full message and appropriate context so that the comments are understood? So that maybe you'll farking pay attention?

If you can't restrain yourself out of courtesy, I see nothing wrong with requesting it.

Biden: "It's about time Congress got the ball rolling on our proposed jobs legistlation."

Mark Halperin @Markhalperin: @veepjoe said 'ball' today lulz

Satanic_Hamster: And keep idiots from twitting

Why would you stomp on people's right to twit? It's a valid media. Just because you don't like a particular technology, doesn't mean that millions of people shouldn't have the right to use it to inform themselves.

In this case I don't think it would matter given this reporter's sore ass.

I wonder if you could condition speech recognition software to Biden voice patterns and stream the text of the speech live.

Sh*t, even with full context they take it out of context. Welcome to microsecond politics.

Why are "reporters" tweeting?

2012-07-25 11:28:30 AM
OK, people realize that there is no formal 20 minute wait time, right? That's just the article author's estimate of how long it takes to physically write up an article after the conference call. The restriction is simply on Twitting during the conference call itself.

Oh what the hell. ZOMG FASHIZUMS!

Lando Lincoln: Why are "reporters" tweeting?

Because the world is getting dumber at an alarming rate.

Remember the rush to be first with the scoop when the SCOTUS decision on ACA came down?

How'd that work out again?

2012-07-25 11:30:48 AM
Remember how both CNN and FoxNews got the ACA decision wrong because they started talking before they had their information straight?

Biden's just trying to save them the embarrassment of having that happen again.

Lando Lincoln: Why are "reporters" tweeting?

Because we don't pay people enough money to do real reporting these days. We paying talking heads tens of millions of bucks, but very little to those who are supposed to go out and get the news.

The "reporter" in this case is just above an unpaid intern, I suspect.

Meh. The local press corps live-tweets stuff from City Council meetings here. I follow them all, and there's some good comedy gems hidden in among the derp.

If you care about journalism? Poorly.

If you only care about click-rates and ad views and the financial projections that extend precisely one quarter into the future? Not too shabby, actually.

CNN probably got a spike in traffic thanks to that blunder. Attracting traffic by way of incompetence has limited sustainability, but only people who believe in a future which extends a full FOUR months out would care about such nonsense.

Next up... CNN Breaking News: Joe Biden declares himself celibate! "I'm not farking.", says Biden.

When you take a shiat, do you gauge how republican or democratic it might be? Like the really smelly one's are clearly Dem's, and a clean-wipe poop is a republican?
