i thought, from the headline, that this was going to be about a journalist simply repackaging a press release as a news story, similar to the pieces that the bush administration used to send local tv news stations. this is just a news website hosting the video and transcript of a speech...who cares?

It's just, like, lack of professionalism, you know? Who wants to read a whole speech. It should have been interrupted every paragraph or three with a blogger's insightful commentary and maybe a link or two to other bloggers making other insightful commentary. And, like, maybe an ad or two so they could have used that "more after the jump" line. What the hell is anyone doing posting a speech that long without using "more after the jump" at least once? Some people just don't know how to do news, and that's what's really sad about this.

Did they have the full text of Obama's VFW speech? I clicked around a little, couldn't find it.

Found a lot of editorials about how Obama's farking up his campaign, how his commercials prove he's subservient to Romney, and how his sixty second commercials are a Chicago Spending Spree, though.

So you know... great for enjoying a healthy dose of left-wing ultra librul Mainstream MSM Media... just couldn't find the full text of Obama's speech on there.

the so-called mainstream media has been on a full-court press for romney from day one. even gingrich complained about it. pew studies back it up, too. obama has by far the worst treatment from the press. romney could eat a live baby on his front lawn and the press would blame obama. it's farking disgusting.

I wouldn't look to Mike Halperin's blog for any kind of intelligent analysis.

Considering that the mainstream media's "war reporting" consists simply of re-reading Pentagon press releases, this shouldn't be surprising.

Mark Halperin is clearly useless.

The "Next" link brings you to an "'article" titled Romney's National Security Message

Which doesn't mention a single thing about Romney's National Security Message.

Hey man, writing actual articles is very difficult when you're constantly on Morning Joe nodding along to Joe Scarborough's talking anus.

What's the problem? They've been repeating DNC talking points for years and years.

2012-07-25 10:05:24 AM
Today, we are just months away from an arbitrary, across-the-board budget reduction that would saddle the military with a trillion dollars in cuts, severely shrink our force structure, and impair our ability to meet and deter threats. Don't bother trying to find a serious military rationale behind any of this, unless that rationale is wishful thinking. Strategy is not driving President Obama's massive defense cuts.

The failure of the Super Committee to find an eleventh hour deal can mostly be laid at the feet of the obstructionist GOP but according to Mittens it's "President Obama's massive defense cuts".

Wow, that entire speech was harder to digest than the rubber chicken that got served alongside it.

As to the whole lazy journo thing, I'd rather they say nothing than lie so it's actually a bit of an impriovement by my lights.

/Cynical, yes.

Pretty much THIS.

I have never heard Mark Halperin speak on "Morning Joe", but that is because I have already hit the MUTE button to drown out Scarborough's banality so I can stare at Mika Brzezinski's tits in peace.

When I was a kid, TIME could be depended on to show some boobie every now and then. They printed the Cheryl Tiegs mesh bathing suit pic. In the olden days before the internet, adolescent boys struggled to find decent jack off material. The mesh bathingsuit was a memorible day in my life.

Yeah, I was listening to his speech yesterday and was more WTF than I usually am when listening to Romney Speak. Not sure if it was possibly edited, but it sure did sound like the crowd listening to him wasn't really buying it either.

Did find his comment about Gates funny though. " and, and he added a, you know, colorful word in there too if you know what I mean."

That guy's such a dolt.

It's all on one page too, WTF is up with that? Split it up into 10 sections pages that you have to click on, more ad revenues! And I want to see a corresponding slideshow with pics of Romney waving his hand to the crowd or talking or whispering something into his wife's ear.

Awful journalism.

When asked in 2007, during his first run for the presidency, about his sons' lack of military service, Mitt Romney responded, "One of the ways my sons are showing support for our nation is helping to get me elected because they think I'd be a great president."

Are these the same cuts that are required by the budget deal? The same deal that was only required because the Republicans are obstructionist d-bags? The one that Republicans agreed to at the time and now are crying because it is time to pay up?
