Simon: Gentlemen, I'd like you to meet your captain, Captain Oveur.
Clarence Oveur: Gentlemen, welcome aboard.
Simon: Captain, your navigator, Mr. Unger, and your first officer, Mr. Dunn.
Clarence Oveur: Unger.
Unger: Oveur.
Dunn: Oveur.
Clarence Oveur: Dunn. Gentlemen, let's get to work.
Simon: Unger, didn't you serve under Oveur in the Air Force?
Unger: Not directly. Technically, Dunn was under Oveur and I was under Dunn.
Dunn: Yep.
Simon: So, Dunn, you were under Oveur and over Unger.
Unger: Yep.
Clarence Oveur: That's right. Dunn was over Unger and I was over Dunn.
Unger: So, you see, both Dunn and I were under Oveur, even though I was under Dunn.
Clarence Oveur: Dunn was over Unger, and I was over Dunn.

Wow, he was in his 30s on Medical Center?

Hm. Guess I'm just used to the heartthrob doctors being a hell of a lot younger these days.

Bet he don't do it again.

When the Saints picked him up, I wasn't happy. That he was willing to kick Romey's sorry... certainly improved my impression of him.

In my first grade class, my 'girlfriend' Sylvia Cohen wouldn't want to play doctor, she'd play 'Medical Center'.

I was Dr. Joe Gannon. She was random female person.

After 30 seconds of Googling, I find he's dead. So probably all right.

Everett married actress Shelby Grant in Tucson, Arizona, on May 22, 1966. Everett was on location in Tucson filming the 1967 movie, Return of the Gunfighter, at the time of their wedding. Grant appeared in her husband's television series, Medical Center, where he portrayed Dr. Joe Gannon from 1969 to 1976. Grant largely left acting to focus on philanthropy during her later life. She and her husband sponsored more than twenty heart surgeries for children. They had two daughters, Katherine Thorp and Shannon Everett. The couple remained married for 45 years until Grant's death on June 25, 2011.

Everett battled alcoholism for many years before seeking treatment from Alcoholics Anonymous. He had a much publicized argument with feminist actress Lily Tomlin during the taping of the March 31, 1972, episode of The Dick Cavett Show. Tomlin became so enraged when Everett referred to his wife as "my property" that she stormed off the set and refused to return.

I never knew any of this. They seemed to be really nice folks.

Too funny - I was probably around that age when I had my crush on him, too. I wonder why he was such a heart throb to the primary school set??? Sylvia sounds like my kind of girl...

This. I remember him being in "Tiger Beat" back in the day. Nowadays, though, a thirty-something man wouldn't be in a magazine aimed at prepubescent girls.

I always thought his handsomeness was generically bland, and he wasn't my type at all, so I got tremendously bored with all of my friends squealing about him during the early 1970s.

El Brujo: I can't believe there was a guy in his mid seventies named Chad.

His given name was Raymon Lee Cramton. He changed it when he signed a contract with Warner Brothers.

According to his IMDB bio: "Changed his name to Chad Everett because, he said, he got tired of explaining his real name, "Raymon-no-D, Cramton-no-P".
