Gawdzila: Honestly, this doesn't sound all that thrilling.
Don't get me wrong -- it doesn't sound bad, and I'd happily try one, but culinary nirvana? Bah. More like culinary laziness. I love bacon and all, but this bullsh*t where people wrap bacon around anything and pretend as if they've created some work of culinary genius is just stupid.

This is run of the mill fair food and I can think of dozens of better ways to eat bacon.

FFS, there is a show that is the "United States of Bacon"...and it's the same shiat over and over again. "Take one run-of-the-mill menu item, add bacon and people lose their collective culinary minds".

I'll just wait until October, when the Texas State Fair monopolizes a bad part of Dallas.

/Provided my European trip doesn't end in a detention over there in September.

Indeed will hopefully be up there for the Texas-OU game.

One of the few things I miss about Iowa is the fair it is really a great time. The fair here in Baton Rouge like most things is a joke.

Nope, bacon looks dry and unappealing.

Just because you add bacon to something doesn't make it good. It still has to be good prior to the bacon.

Bacon only makes things better. Now, if you put bacon on a pile of shiat, it's still shiat, it just happens to be a bacon flavored shiat.

The Iowa fair is cool but what about when the 'running of the negros'. It has happen the past few years and WILL happen again this year.

/I know, I know....racist piece of shiat, etc. etc.

this would be better if the bacon wrapped hotdog was grilled first, then dipped in corndog batter, then deep fried. grilled bacon is much better than deep fried bacon.

/need to try that

I had one of these at Capital EX last night. (He's currently selling them there, before the Iowa State Fair.) It was undercooked in the middle, with the batter still raw. But it was delicious. So I ate it anyway. And I'm ill today. But I'd do it again. Bacon!

Get it right, its called "Beat Whitey Night" and with more people having ccw permits i dont think it will go down the same as last year.

Now, make them with these. As Mrs Spldng refers to them; "cocaine franks."

jaybeezey: eon: Cloudchaser Sakonige the Red Wolf: FTA: "Keeping (the bacon) on the hot dog took a lot of experimenting," he said. So don't even try to bribe the sweaty teenagers working the stand for the secret."

That's easy. Use wood toothpicks. I've cooked bacon wrapped hot dogs that way. Of course, the toothpicks get removed before eating

considering you can see a hole in the bacon right in the picture, I'd say that's probably it

Besides, the stapler kept squashing the hot dog.

Came to say this...stapling bacon to hotdogs just doesn't work out like you would hope. Plus those staple guns are dangerous.

Nailguns are worse. The nail just blows right on through the hotdog

This was actually stolen from Capital Ex in Edmonton. It was created by the guys at the radio station Sonic 102.9. The photo is even from Edmonton. You can clearly see the Sonic Scion right behind the guy in the photo. We've had it here for about a week now, and yes, it is that amazing.

AbbeySomeone: Mugato: I'm getting tired, I read that as Double Bacon Cam. I thought they strapped a camera to a pig.

...ugh. That looks horrible. I'm getting sharp pains in my left arm just looking at that.

Oh walk it off.

Lsherm: AbbeySomeone: Want.

Honey dijon or maple mustard.

F**k mustard. You dip shiat like that in Cinnabon icing. Or congealed bacon grease. Or both.

You said what about mustard?
