WhoIsWillo: Ohhhhh, goooood for you.

Seriously, good on you, Mr. Bale. That's a classy move, and to do it lo-key is probably for the best.

/Would be nice of the rest of the cast would join him too.

well, a dozen of em got to meet heath ledger.

Cool move but would be cooler if, when everyone recovers, have a reunion at a private theater and screen the film with some of the cast, maybe Christopher Nolan. Just kind of have some memorial before and ease everyone's mind that they should enjoy the film like they wanted to and not have to have some form of terrible memory attached to the film. I know it'd be difficult to get over but it'd probably be a good form of therapy. Like a "Fark you, we can get over this and not be fearful."

This is the best thing he could have done.

Really respect him for this, especially for doing it so lo-key.

Voloch said Bale notified that he wanted to visit the injured, but asked that media not be notified. "He just wanted to meet with victims and police."

And I hadn't heard that part before. Double classy move. Of course he knew it would get out anyway, but he did it the right way.

*Morgan Freeman walks in, points, and says*

"Titty sprinkles!"

*then he walks out*

That would cheer me up if I were in the hospital.

nmiguy: I know Bale is an actor who plays a hero, but I can't help but think that playing the role of Batman has had an influence on him, in a good way.

Seeing the latest The Dark Knight Rises (I am of the opinion that this is his greatest work as an actor) I get the feeling he came to visit these victims not for publicity for the film, but really because he wanted to do be there for the victims. Show support. Bale may be a flawed human being, but there is a hero in him dying to get out.

I completely agree. I couldn't have said it better my self. This guy's the bee's knees. Hopefully he'll keep away from doing anymore violent movies. I think he's seen the light.

Bale has a bad reputation only because he demands excellence from his peers while working. I can't say I'm much different (total Type-A personality).

While I think it's a small thing for him to do in the realm of the real world, he didn't have to do anything.

Uchiha_Cycliste: stoli n coke: Vangor: Uchiha_Cycliste: Vangor: Great on him. Question, however: would providing them tickets to see the film be a good or bad move?

show the movie in the hospital? Prevent them from possibly experiencing the trauma of being back in the theater make it optional. Provide a safe, protected environment for them to watch it if they want to

Listen, I don't want a sincere answer to this question no matter how good your idea or stoli n cokes is; I want to assume indecision.

I know you're going for snark, but yes, giving them tickets or arranging a showing would be a good move. Hell, they already paid to see it.

Oh... they saw a show and they they sure got more than they bargained for.

So ya, Thought ya
Might like to go to the show?

I doubt the studio would have wanted ANYTHING to do with this. They'll want to distance themselves as much as possible from the incident, because of the possible PR backlash it might cause. Movie studios are really, really sensitive to losing money.

I'd imagine this was all Bale and that the stuidos were all "Omigod please don't.". Good on ya, bro.

/talk is cheap, lets see how much of his fortune for being a phony hero he shares with the victims' families

Jesus, man. He didn't shoot anyone. He didn't have any relation to the shooter. And he doesn't anyone anything. This is a nice gesture on his part. Why should there be a demand for anything more from him?

/thought the demand for him to dress up as the Batman to visit was a little too much
//this is nice

If this were Sean Penn instead of Christian Bale, he would have announced his hospital visit to the media ahead of time and brought his own professional photography crew to take pics of him talking to the victims.
