Ohhhhh, goooood for you.

Seriously, good on you, Mr. Bale. That's a classy move, and to do it lo-key is probably for the best.

/Would be nice of the rest of the cast would join him too.

2012-07-24 05:20:56 PM
Pffft. Viral marketing.

2012-07-24 05:20:57 PM
Classy indeed.

"Why didn't you link to the source article, Subby?" -Me, a second before I realized that the source article is like the same two sentences, and still doesn't have a picture of him actually being there.

*Morgan Freeman walks in, points, and says*

"Titty sprinkles!"

*then he walks out*

That would cheer me up if I were in the hospital.

Yeah, that was why.

And there's Christian Bale walking right through AH-DA-DA-DAH, like this in the hospital.

2012-07-24 05:47:37 PM
Did they know who he was..?

2012-07-24 06:38:31 PM
Truly, he is the once and future Bat... ^_^

Godscrack: Did they know who he was..?

Of course they did...

He was the Batman.

2012-07-24 07:23:37 PM
Did he yell at them about the lights.

2012-07-24 07:24:00 PM
Good on him

2012-07-24 07:24:41 PM
If I were in the hospital when he came in I'd pretend like I was just coming out of unconsciousness and ask him "why didn't you just kill me?" and even though it was Tom Hardy's line he wouldn't miss a beat and in a perfect Bane voice say "your punishment must be more severe" because he's such a great actor and then we'd have a little moment and I'd pull out the screenplay I had been working on while recovering and he'd look it over and say "yes, I'd love to play the lead in this. May I show it to some friends of mine? I think Chris Nolan would definitely be excited about directing it" and then the morphine would start to wear off and I'd realize I had been talking to the vital signs monitor all along and because it was sort of an Inception-ey moment I'd be all BWAHHHHM.

+1 to Christian Bale being a good guy

2012-07-24 07:32:37 PM
This is the best thing he could have done.

Really respect him for this, especially for doing it so lo-key.

2012-07-24 07:36:00 PM
Movie studio PR department on overdrive.

2012-07-24 07:39:48 PM
If this were Sean Penn instead of Christian Bale, he would have announced his hospital visit to the media ahead of time and brought his own professional photography crew to take pics of him talking to the victims.

2012-07-24 07:40:22 PM
Link already farked.

2012-07-24 07:40:55 PM
Link
That's the picture I saw earlier. And good job, Mr. Bale.

2012-07-24 07:43:14 PM
Voloch said Bale notified that he wanted to visit the injured, but asked that media not be notified. "He just wanted to meet with victims and police."

And I hadn't heard that part before. Double classy move. Of course he knew it would get out anyway, but he did it the right way.

2012-07-24 07:45:09 PM
Good job Mr. Bale. Class act.

2012-07-24 07:46:17 PM
Well done,Mr. Bale.

2012-07-24 07:46:18 PM
did he dress up?

2012-07-24 07:46:55 PM
That's not Christian Bale. That's his secret twin brother.

2012-07-24 07:49:05 PM
Very cool. And keeping it quiet was exactly the right thing to do. These people have had a nightmare of a week and the last thing they needed was vapid entertainment media following Bale around on top of the regular 24-hour variety.

2012-07-24 07:50:08 PM
That one misguided shiatheads indiegogo campaign worked!

2012-07-24 07:51:20 PM
Totally worth it.

2012-07-24 07:51:36 PM
Did he give them a business card?

Classy.

Anyone else wonder if he was talking to them in his normal Brit voice or Bruce Wayne American accent, or the Throaty Batman Grunty voice?

Weellll yes...and no. If the spirit moves them to do so...then fine. But if they're not comfortable about it or if they do it because their publicist or agent says it's good for their image, etc...then no.

It's just a little icky that this may become some kind of weird contest to see which actor shows up. Too twisted.

2012-07-24 08:01:43 PM
Somebody shoot me so I can meet Anne Hathaway.

Lol. I read this in a little-kid-talking-90-miles-an-hour voice, which made me lol harder.

Now I woke up my 7 week old. Oops.

Good for Mr. Bale. Way to not notify the media and be all Sean Penn about it.

2012-07-24 08:06:56 PM
That's cool. Bale seem's like a pretty cool guy. He should visit Holmes now. In character. With a Bat Glock.

2012-07-24 08:10:42 PM
Awesome.

2012-07-24 08:11:47 PM

and then rebuilt the hospital

2012-07-24 08:16:30 PM
Yeah, because I defintitely want to see that angry fark if I'm in the hospital.

So long as you leave the lights alone you won't anger him.

pro: the girl who works at the hospital and is 'one of the biggest batman fans ever' has left her photos open, including pictures in a batgirl costume.
con: I like the idea less now.

;)

That works into a theory I have about Dark Knight Rises, which I won't share here because spoilers.

2012-07-24 08:21:00 PM
Bale is actually quite uncomfortable with the press, and I'm certain he wouldn't have done this with a media circus following him around.

2012-07-24 08:21:51 PM
Why is it so hard to get a reservation at dorsia?

2012-07-24 08:24:54 PM
Poor form... these poor bastards only saw 39 minutes of the flick. But I suppose spoilers be damned.

2012-07-24 08:26:20 PM
Now, if he'd don his costume and dispense some Batman-style justice to Holmes...

Seriously classy and compassionate move: Hothead or not, Bale is f'awesome!
