as Organizers Struggle to Include More Random British Things in the Ceremony

How about warm beer, tall ships, scurvy, longbows, invading Gauls, foggy weather, pointless royalty, bad teeth, etc...

Only if Dr Who fights the winner.

Damn, England. You used to be kind of cool for a while. What happened?

2012-07-24 05:04:31 PM
Because why the hell not?

2012-07-24 05:18:52 PM
It will be a boring ceremony if all they do is spell everything wrong.

2012-07-24 05:21:07 PM
Everything else that happens after this will be disappointing. Everything. For all history. Jesus could return riding a velociraptor, and go parading down the street shooting rainbows and chocolate ice cream out his (the velociraptor's, not Jesus', because that would be sacrilegious) butt followed by thousands of naked ladies with large perky breasts, ATMs could start dispensing blowjobs, all Republicans could keel over stone cold dead of heart attacks, and bad actresses like Julia Roberts, Kyra Sedgwick, and Sarah Jessica Parker could be tossed into a volcano, and it still wouldn't be as cool as this. You'd look at it all and go, "Meh. It's nice, but not as cool as that time the Mary Poppins clones banded together to defeat the hideously gigantic Lord Voldemort."

I can't tell if this is satire or not.

To recap: All the action to this point has taken place in some sort of bed.

Shenanigans. We should bring our broomsticks.

Sounds like we're in for an epic spectacle debacle.

Presumably,Edward Cullen is the Olympic mascot.

Still not British enough.

Perhaps if you throw in some women running around in lingerie chasing a pudgy man while that song is playing, then we'll have something truly British.

I'm starting to think that Blackadder and Baldrick are in charge of the Opening Ceremony this year.

Meh, she already fought Harry Potter in League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.

And he even had a eyeball covered penis that shot lightning bolts.

Mary Poppins was in Slytherin. She had a horrible attitude, treated the kids like sh*t, she almost got the kids killed on several occasions, she drugged them, forced them to revolt against their role models...do not trust her, she is working for Voldemort.

Rowan Atkinson without the wonky right eye is a fine-looking man.

Therefore, I suspect he's at least part Irish.

And seriously, Mr Bean should finish 'em both off. Or Thomas the Tank Engine. Ka-SMOOSH!

During the Vancouver Olympics, the British press made a point to trash us as much as possible. I find it deeply satisfying that now they are whining even more than we did, already farked up the security, and seem to have come up with nationally humiliating major events.
