All of them. Romney really should give himself credit for all the jobs crested since the recession ended, since he was the one who had all the great ideas to fix the economy in the first place.

Politics aside, it's just f*cking awful.

As a former Republican desperately wishing for some kind of reasonable dialogue, I couldn't agree more. A milquetoast, waffling, blathering plutocrat like Romney is the antithesis of what the Right needs right now. They need a blue-collar, self-made, passionate, half-minority, intelligent pragmatist who can rekindle the dialogue and get them back on track.

Probably not gonna happen...

You know, Obama really has no business winning this year with the economy the way it is. I mean, I'm all for the guy and clearly things have improved significantly from the depths of late '08/early '09. But things have slowed down the past 3 months and it cannot be denied. The fact that Obama is still ahead in various electoral map predictions is such a clear-cut indictment of the GOP going with the guy who couldn't beat the guy who couldn't beat Obama. Romney is just an awful candidate.

mat catastrophe: Romney's tanking himself on purpose for some reason.

I think the convention is going to be nasty and we really will see either Gingrich/Paul or something come out of it.

It certainly does seem like he's throwing it. Maybe he's just trying to lower the bar so far that when he acts remotely competent in October, everyone will marvel at how far he's come and vote for him for growing so much in the campaign?

Exactly. Obama is a pretty awesome early-90s Republican. Romney is a pretty lousy everything except scion. He's a kickass scion. Almost as good as Bush II. Almost. You don't see people clamoring to have a beer nice glass of lemonade with him and then watch baseball on tv sing a bland song about revisionist history and wool underpants.

Romney, a candidate worse than Kerry running against a President more successful than Bush.

The only excuse for it being even remotely close is a complete and utter failure to perform their job on the part of the third and fourth branches of government.

New thought: He's always been this bad at what he does but he won this year because everyone else in the race was just that much worse.

Now, as the presumptive nominee, there's no one around to look dumber than him.

Thinking about it. I voted David Cobb in 2004. I like Johnson alot, but don't agree with alot of his policies. As a radical centrist, ideologically, I'm probably closest to pragmatists like Obama, Brown, or McCain from the year 2000. There's really no one on the right that I agree with on more than 30% of their platform, and of the left, I'm about 45-50% with Obama. Johnson I'm around 40%, Paul maybe 25%.

This sort of thing is why I stopped looking at CNN, let alone Fox News.
I read things like the Financial Times if I want to know what is going on. Money doesn't want propaganda as that would interfere with the investment decisions. Nate Silver is pretty good, and there are a few other sources.

You do realize that it is possible to actually be nominated president(if you have the right states) with only 22% of the votes. You could actually be down by damn near 30% and still win. It probably won't happen, because the states you would need to win are pretty solid one way or the other.

It's still July. November is a LONG time off, one way or the other.

You think what's in Obamacare is even close to universal healthcare, you should look at putting the crackpipe down.
