Article is bullsh*t.

Yeah, he did.

I also like the ellipses. You can never doubt an article that uses ellipses.

Where is the quote of the original, unaltered question posed before the CEO's answer?

Yeah, he did.

Klansman: "The Bible says that that God himself is white and the Caucasian race is God's favorite people, so only White people should have any rights."

Weekly Standard: "The liberal media is misrepresenting everything that man says! He never, ever explicitly said that black people are inferior to white people!"

Mr. Pocket Ninja, what is your stance on watching as some other guy gives it to your spouse or significant other?

Yeah, he said that and then he put a shiat load of the companies money into it.

Tell you what though, if he really didn't feel that way he could end this whole controversy right now by saying so.

If by "makes shiat up" you mean "quotes them", then you might be correct.

'Guilty as charged,' Dan Cathy says of Chick-fil-A's stand on faith

I wonder what the correlation will be between people defending Dan Cathy in this thread and people condemning Obama in the "didn't build that" threads.

2012-07-24 01:41:53 PM
Look, Chick-fil-A? Can I call you Chick?

Look, Chick. Here's the thing. You want to parade your devotion to "Christian Family Values," and, you know, there's really nothing wrong with that. I mean, sure, some would say it's a really bad business move that runs the risk of offending many of your customers, but, in the end, it's really your choice.

So, go crazy. Scream it from the mountain top, so to speak.

What you really can't do, once you've let that cat out of the bag, is complain about how people who are offended by your support of these so called "Christian Family Values" have decided to not do business with you.

It's their choice. People have all sorts of reasons for avoiding restaurants, and you gave them a good one.

If it hurts your business, that's a result of your own doing. Blaming people for not eating at your restaurants because they don't like you is more a reflection of YOU and not them. If that is hard for you to understand, then maybe you shouldn't be in this business.

Honestly, man. No one is morally obliged to eat at your chicken stand.

Dan Cathay said:
"We are very much supportive of the family - the biblical definition of the family unit ... We intend to stay the course. We know that it might not be popular with everyone, but thank the Lord, we live in a country where we can share our values and operate on biblical principles."

He asked for
"God's mercy on our generation that has such a prideful, arrogant attitude to think that we have the audacity to define what marriage is about."

and after the remarks become public he took to twitter and twice stated that he had:
"lit up the gay community."

so um, yeah. he's a biggot and he said something biggoted

2012-07-24 01:49:14 PM
According to WinShape's 990 IRS forms, the charity, to which Chick-fil-A has given over $8 million, gave more than $2 million to anti-gay groups such as Focus on the Family and Eagle Forum between 2003 and 2009, the majority in 2009

But I mean maybe he does support gay marriage, what do I know

It's actually just one PAC. "Focus on the Family and Eagle Forum". They want you to maintain a healthy family while having a significant web presence. Like Moses.

once again, i love, love, LOVE that conservatives can't leave shiat alone. they could have let this story die, but they are physically unable to. they MUST have the last word, even if it means parsing it in an extremely, ahem, clintonian way.

KEEP TALKING ABOUT THIS, CONSERVATIVES. IT CAN ONLY HELP YOUR CAUSE.

did you ever stop to consider that the Eagle Forum is exactly what the name implies? a cage full of eagles, with one human just writing down their behavior and then divinging the meaning of their actions and giving political money based on that?

because that would be freaking awesome

sprawl15: "Focus on the Family and Eagle Forum". They want you to maintain a healthy family sense of overwhelming self-loathing and shame while having a significant web presence level of cognitive dissonance. Like Moses themselves.

2012-07-24 02:04:16 PM
That's not much better but really, if you know anything at all about the press, and about liberals, and particularly when you combine the two.

So the statement had to be taken and twisted until it became some fire breathing homophobic rant against homosexuals for two reasons... It was more sensationalist that way, and that's what news is now... and it had to fit in line with what liberals wanted to believe and wanted to think. It was the perfect chance to be 'creative' with the quotes.

"People will believe anything either because they want it to be true or because they are afraid that it might be true."

2012-07-24 02:04:20 PM
The President of Chik-fil-A better be careful not to break his damn fool head open backpedaling like that.

Fart_Machine: They donate millions to groups that do say that so the spin on this poor oppressed corporation is a joke.

Money is speech. So donating to these corporations is like shouting at them. You can't say that shouting at a cause is the same as supporting it, can you?

Sure, I'll give a pass to someone who's made an Eagle Forum out of literal eagles, but only as long as there are some eagles under the floormats.

This is why we need disclosure.

What horseshiat. Write a story when a gay employee is refused hire. CNN is acting like this guy is Kirk Cameron and Tim Hardaway wrapped into one.

I just know I am gonna tear up some waffle fries in about an hour.
