Hmm. I wonder when a few certain people from the Chick-Fil-A thread, the ones loudly decrying the "Misuse" of the word "Condemnation" (because, you see, using a completely accurate dictionary definition of a word doesn't count when it makes Republicans look bad), are going to step into this one and decry the actual misuse of the word "Scandal" in this headline.

2012-07-24 04:33:51 PM
Considering what Obama paid for a photo op with them, the cost of that fund-raiser was a big-time bargain.

2012-07-24 04:35:30 PM
So I guess Republicans are now against their definition of "Free speech"?

How many months have passed and STILL no one actually gives a fark about the Solyndra "scandal"?

Because the MSM downplays it. The Obamessiah is their guy, their number one guy, and they'll keep the dirt away from him. Now if it was a Republican involved, the MSM would be squawking about it 24/7.

As for the solar "industry", such as it is, it's about to go down the tubes across the board as cheap, reliable, non-stop fracked natural gas starts to flood the market.

Once again the dreams of the Central Planners lie in ruins.....

If Solyndra's bankruptcy is a scandal than so is Konarka Technology's.

So...none of the executive staff or other financial backers of Solyndra donated a penny to any republican politicians?
Solyndra got into the loan guarantee program while Bush was in office. Did any executive staff donate to Bush?

Fer Gawd's sake...we have 2, count them with me...1, 2!

The two "players" you might ask?
FTA: A former adviser at the Department of Energy that helped approve the loan as part of the stimulus plan, and Steve Westly, a venture capitalist that warned the White House against offering a deal to Solyndra.

So now all DoE advisers are permanently off the guest list?

Somehow I don't hear the people who like to hoot and wail over Solyndra having any problem with who the Halliburton executives support aver getting billions in no-bid contracts. Just Sayin.

one of the major reasons it's cheap has to do with the light state regulations and the exemption from several very significant federal environmental laws.

And hey, the waste is quite hazardous, even radioactive, yet is classified as industrial. Much cheaper handling costs.

The shale gas extraction industry is getting a HUGE subsidy.

This is how we do it:

1. Pretend Solyndra is a Democrat Scandal™
2. Submit a very butthurt headline hoping to reach out to others just as butthurt by the Obama administration
3. Have coffee with the few the proud that relate to said butthurt, discuss RON PAUL

There is a 1,000,000 mile diameter nuclear reactor in the sky that puts out enough free energy in a second to power our current civilization for 500,000 years. If we could figure out a way to tap into a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of that energy we would never have to mine, drill, or burn any of our polluting finite carbon-based resources again.

But that's just stupid.

I'm pretty sure the Walton Family donated heavily to Republicans and they were one of Solyndra's biggest investors.

So a complete ROI poochscrew for something like the F-22 is fine because herpderp Chinese stealth drones, but a 90%+ ROI for solar is bad because a black dude is our president?

Do I have that right?

Yes, it's all about racism. Not the more-than-half-billion in government money that was stuffed down that rat hole with 0% return.

That Obama's team staged a photo shoot at Solyndra as proof his green jobs initiative was paying off was irrelevant. Non-story. Old. Chicken farking. And most desperately, Bbbuuuuush.

I heard plenty about Solyndra on NPR of all places. I still haven't heard any explanation about how a business going bankrupt because of unforeseen commodity price risks constitutes a "scandal."

Perhaps you care to explain to me how Solyndra was some government toppling scandal.

Well, republicans did suddenly start caring about spending once the black guy got elected...

ok... it's probably all about partisanship but it's more funner to call republicans racist because, 1. they are and B. they love to use extremist rhetoric and hyperbole so why not use it when referring to them.

2012-07-24 05:18:03 PM
Well now that the Eric Holder derp isn't gaining any more traction, I guess it's time to return to Solyndra for even greater lulz.

Ah Solyndra, a hotbed oasis of Republican glee.

Still, watching them throw sh*t at the wall hoping something will stick gets more than a bit disturbing. How much money are they wasting plotting Obama's demise? What's next, Obamawater?

If you're so *smrt*, you tell us how we can store solar energy for use at night in an economically competitive way. Oh, it's easy and pretty cheap now to collect solar energy, but there's still no way to store it cheap enough to compete with the cheapness of fossil fuels.

Perhaps you care to explain to me how Solyndra was some government toppling scandal.

Because the Obama White House directed huge government loans to a company that contributed to his campaign. But that's only bad when the Republicans do it, right?

The Romney wall is covered with the dripping entrails of the sh*t that's been thrown against it.

Can you imagine what 30 years of solar power infrastructure could have done for this country?

I weep for this version of the universe. At least the math says we're doing better in some alternate.

That's 30 years of not killing tens of thousands in the middle east because we're slave to their oil.

Hang on while put on my aluminum foil hat here ...

That's 30 years of the slow decline of Exxon, Mobile, BP, etc ... it's a good thing a big company would never do anything to stifle innovation or progress just because it might hurt their bottom line.
