But we should listen to an arrogant and oblivious blogger? I'll pass.

Though I find it interesting that Feder received a liberal arts education from an elitist East Coast university, and has a law degree (probably a trial lawyer!).

Feder is a 1969 graduate of the Boston University College of Liberal Arts and a 1972 graduate of the Boston University School of Law.

Obama's you-didn't-build-that comments were the most telling moment in the campaign so far. The president is bitter and frustrated, due to his inability to run away from Romney in the polls. Hence his off-script spasm in Roanoke, where he sounded like the villain in an Ayn Rand novel:

"Look, you've been successful. Look, you didn't get there on your own....I'm always struck by people who think, well, it must be because I was just so smart.... It must be because I worked harder than everybody else," said the man who's played 100 rounds of golf since taking office.

why do Republicans think it's honorable to be looted and pillaged by banks and corporations? 'oh noes - the gubbermint can't screw me over, that's WRONG!' they say...but when the bank illegal fixes loan rates or corporations ship jobs overseas, well...the GOP shills are ok with that sort of thing. If you stand up against wall street abuses - even if you are reasonable about your objections - then to the Republicans that makes you a 'marxist'. And I find that attitude...weird. disturbing too, since it harkens back to the days of the Red Scare and McCarthyism. is that where the Republicans want to take us? back to a government run inquisition?

Obama would understand this if he bothered to read economics (other than Paul Krugman's New York Times fantasies) or if he read any history, besides "The People's History of the United States."

he's right on this part: Most analyses of Obama's Roanoke remarks have focused on a defense of entrepreneurs.
What's missing is the obvious implications. If you didn't build it, we can take it from you. It's not theft; it's restitution.

That's the plan for the second term. Since we didn't build it, we don't deserve it and Obama can take it from us.

And every business the GOP has used as an example has recieved a federal subsidy. The democrats haven't even had to point out an educated workforce, infrastructure, or a consumer base whose disposable income is from welfare, disability, social security, etc.

Since people build their businesses all by them selves and don't need government, why don't they go where there is no government and no taxes?

They can show us how bootstrapy they can be by building their own roads, fighting off bandits, bartering their product for chickens or goats or whatever. Somalia really does have everything that they say they want.

I don't know why they all don't move there. It almost like they want all the benefits of government but they don't want to help pay for it.
