are you farking joking? obama is right of center by any reasonable measure.

2012-07-24 08:01:19 AM
He's not. Next question?

FlashHarry: are you farking joking? obama is right of center by any reasonable measure.

This. The American political system is so far out of whack it's frightening. If you look at the right-wing parties in other countries, they're still farther left than the Democrats are.

Although here in Canada, unfortunately, the Conservatives are taking a page from the US play book. Let's just hope we can realize it before they drag us down the hole too.

Considered, and rejected. Next?

2012-07-24 08:11:12 AM
Maybe Obama is too far to the right. And Romney is even further than him.

2012-07-24 08:14:06 AM
Hmmmmm, let me consider that for a moment........no.

2012-07-24 08:17:12 AM
Oh wait, you're serious. Let me laugh even harder.

Red State really doesn't want you to know that Obamacare is straight up stolen wholesale from the 1994 GOP health care proposal. That's how far to the left Obama is.

2012-07-24 08:17:31 AM
Done in one.

I certainly wish Obama was further to the left. Also, Romney isn't as far to the right as people may think he is. He's certainly left of W. He's a blue-bloded corporate elitist, but beyond that he stands for nothing socially. He'll change his opinion about anything at all if it means more votes.

I'd be happy if Obama was slightly to the left.

And you can't tell me with any honesty where Romney lies on the spectrum because he refuses to stand on any position.

2012-07-24 08:43:14 AM
If we are to go by Rmoney's record as a Governor he is a little left of Obama. But it is fun watching the tards at redstate wrestle with cognitive dissonance.

2012-07-24 08:47:59 AM
Then perhaps you should consider Mitt Romney's record when he was governor of Massachusetts.

2012-07-24 08:52:31 AM
If you think Obama is too far to the left, you should consider if you're stupid

As president, Mitt will not only appoint an Attorney General who will defend the Defense of Marriage Act - a bipartisan law passed by Congress and signed by President Clinton - but he will also champion a Federal Marriage Amendment to the Constitution defining marriage as between one man and one woman.

The only think we need to consider at the moment is that RedState is completely partisan and useless.

True, but... Those are facts, and facts don't matter so long as I FEEL and believe that he's the libbiest lib who ever libbed.

2012-07-24 09:08:56 AM
Um... no. No, we should not. Hilariously, if conservatives looked at Romney's record as governor of Massachusetts, he's too far to the left, but Obama sure as fark isn't to the standards of most liberals.

2012-07-24 09:14:16 AM
What's the baseline? If it is France, then everyone is way to the right. if it is the founding fathers, then everyone is way to the left.

2012-07-24 09:16:00 AM
seriously, if you think obama is "too far left," you are either a farking moron or you're so far right you make mussolini look like che guevara.

2012-07-24 09:18:02 AM
Without even RTFA, I know that Redstate and its readers consider Obama to be left of Karl Marx.

Also, like Bloody William said, Romney has in the past run to the left of Obama.

2012-07-24 09:20:59 AM
Yeah... How about no?

What I would like from the Romney people is a moment of candor. Admit that he's not the candidate they want, but at the end of the day will still vote for him because he's GOP. They make Romney into something he's not in order to justify their support of him. And at the same time, claim Obama is the liberal messiah for whom we will vote no matter what.

Obama's disappointed me on a number of things. Mostly domestic security issues (Patriot Act, NDAA, etc.). But on a par, to me, he's superior to Romney and therefore I will vote for him again. Why is that honesty so hard?

No, he's not! he's a filthly librul commie. in fact he's the librulist lib who ever libbed. Even more of a liberal than Libby MyLiberalson.

Just ask any republican, they'll tell you.

2012-07-24 09:36:06 AM
Obama is right of Nixon.

Is he too far left? Sure, if he wants the Republican nomination.

I was going to comment, but you've already said everything I would've.

THIS, ladies and gentlemen, is the problem with "balance" in media. for years, the right, through fox news, talk radio and the blogosphere, has claimed that obama is a socialist. and though this claim is demonstrably and patently false, it has gone unchallenged in the mainstream media due to its obsession with the erroneous concept of "balance" - a concept introduced by fox news in 1996. (the laughably ironic part of the equation, of course, is that fox news itself is about as far from balanced as a network can be.)

the upshot of this is, now a good percentage of the US population believes that obama is a socialist (just like they wrongly believe that the ACA is a 'government takeover of healthcare' and that saddam hussein was behind 9/11).

the electorate is ignorant because the media has utterly failed in its sacred duty as the fourth estate.

FTA: Barack Obama has repeatedly surrounded himself with people who actually don't much care for the United States. Writing that may anger people, but it is actual, factual, fact.

Wet, Lemon, Good?

In the White House he appointed Van Jones, a self-described communist

Marvin Olasky.

Anyone who actually believes that Obama is too far to the left is obviously too far to the right.

2012-07-24 10:11:29 AM
Mitt Romney? Yeah, let's see... signed an assault weapons ban, passed socialized medicine, pro-choice.... yeah, he's wayyyy off to the right, subby.

2012-07-24 10:15:30 AM
We don't have a liberal party in America

2012-07-24 10:16:29 AM
Romney makes Ebenezer Scrooge look like a liberal.

2012-07-24 10:16:45 AM
I would be very interested to hear some of the "far-left" policy initiatives Obama has championed or signed into law.

Marcus Aurelius: Mitt Romney? Yeah, let's see... signed an assault weapons ban, passed socialized medicine, pro-choice.... yeah, he's wayyyy off to the right, subby.

He's got the support of the NRA, so clearly the assault weapons ban is not a liberal policy.

There isn't too far left for hard-core libs.
There isn't too far right for neocons.

2012-07-24 10:17:49 AM
How about no.

2012-07-24 10:18:41 AM
But, NO ONE IN HISTORY has ever been farther to the left than OBIGOT! He's so far to the left, he's off the scale!

See? Undeniable PROOF that flies in the face of all your Libfacts™!

Really? I'm pretty liberal, but I wouldn't send you to a reeducation camp (mainly because there is ZERO chance it would take).

Stage left or audience left?

If 'merikuh goes any further right, they'll be goose-stepping around the town square in brown shirts and jackboots!

2012-07-24 10:23:00 AM
How about possibility c) Wherever you place them on the silly "left-right false dichotomy" scale, Romney and Obama are both firmly entrenched establishment politicians that will fervently defend the welfare-warfare state?

They're wayyy more alike than different.

2012-07-24 10:23:16 AM

oldfarthenry: If 'merikuh goes any further right, they'll be goose-stepping around the town square in brown shirts and jackboots!

It won't be brown shirts and jackboots.

It'll be American flag lapel pins.

2012-07-24 10:23:50 AM
Okay, let's consider that.

Hmmm.

Nope. Not even close.

Anything else you'd like me to consider?

2012-07-24 10:23:52 AM
The problem with this that Romney doesn't fall on any political spectra. His only view is that he should be in charge.

2012-07-24 10:24:33 AM

Sleeping Monkey: Anyone who actually believes that Obama is too far to the left is obviously too far to the right.

But don't you remember when Obama wanted to shut down the stock market, bulldoze Wall St and start an organic free range co-op in it's place? Or make killing animals legally murder? And then released every prisoner and personally hugged them all?

Oh wait no that never happened.

It can't happen here.
