Metasploit!? Their network security is so bad Metasploit was able to bypass it?
For a college project I penetrated a couple different server configurations using Metasploit ... because it's free.

Is a Computer Worm Causing Iranian Nuclear Facilities to Blast AC/DC's 'Thunderstruck' At Night?

Yes, because when you are trying to sabotage a nation's nuclear facilities over a period of years, you ALWAYS want to draw attention to the fact that their computers are infected.

I want to believe.

You're assuming the people who sent the worm A) Works for the US and/or allies in this regard B) sent this thig in order to do physical damage?

I'mm pretty sure at this point we're just letting the Iranians know that all the NSA has to do is type "python shutdown_iran.py" into a terminal and they're back to bang rocks together.

You know, the Iranians aren't total idiots. They may have some serious blow hard jagoffs running the joint, but as people they aren't incompetent, just mislead. I think they probably have some people on the inside that understand the international ramifications of a nuclear armed Iran and are slowing the project from within.

Well, there's always they chance that someone from /b wrote a sophisticated trojan that seeks out a particular type of siemans logic controller but given that this story came from a blog I'm going to guess this is a made-up story.

RIAA should sue for unauthorized reproduction. That should fix it.

That would also be my guess, although i would claim bias, as i would not want to see /b, sophisticated. trojan and Siemens in the same sentence again.

You aren't making a good case for "not total idiots".

So far for others, but I can't help but think Israel's fear of a nuclear armed enemy is going to put the idea that nuclear weapons = safety to the test.

Not to give the Iranians any ideas....just maybe, just maybe, they should not have their nuclear controller computers available to the internet via vpn. Hell, the system sounds like it wouldn't even meet PCI compliance.

Sounds like someone is trying to do some online shopping at work, now that the MBA types have convinced the suits that all ecommerce sites should now have a video or music track that starts automatically.

Mere words cannot convey how much I hate this.

As a soon-to-graduate MBA, I am intrigued by this, and would like to survey your peers so that we can transform this factoid into a benchmarking metric.

That actually happened with the Nazi nuclear physicists as well. One of the reasons they pursued heavy water for so long.

Safety Dance by Men Without Hats is my choice. It covers both the topic of nuclear fallout and is one of the 3 deadly tunes from the 80's that when played repeatedly would cause a nuclear scientist to eat enriched uranium.
